This appears to be a rather unnerving story most likely - the human resources executive who warned Wal-Mart Corporate
last ywar about hiring unhealthy workers (for pretty obvious reasons) has been promoted to the head of the HR division
of the retailing giant.Susan Chambers, a former Hallmark executive who was recently in charge of Wal-Mart's risk management and benefits areas, seems a *prime* candidate to lead human resources, no? I digress - an attentive executive who weighs cost/benefit of human labor like a standard bean counter - and somehow doesn't safeguard documentation that ends up in the public's eye - makes a perfect person to promote to what is arguably the most visible public face to many Wal-Mart employees. With the recent brand tarnishing Wal-Mart has had about low pay, low benefits, and treating some workers like mops, Chambers has quite a job to do - repairing all this negative perception should be job number one.
