More

Apple finished the day at $57.95, up 68 cents. It's a slow semi-extended weekend for many, but Apple news still trickled in today. The Foxconn controversy continues, Apple's Chinese iPod manufacturer claiming Apple had finished investigating whether iPods were being made under harsh conditions, while Apple's Steve Dowling said that the investigation was still underway.

Apple's MacBooks have had numerous owners pointing out that the case around the palm rest had started to spot with a yellow discoloration. Apple acknowledged that there was a problem with the plastic being used, and that it has been changed. To have a discolored MacBook fixed you can contact AppleCare to have a new plastic case swapped in.

On an up note, Asustek, the Taiwanese company that manufactures the MacBooks, saw stronger than expected sales. Apple's notebook sales in 2006 are expected to be 39% higher than in 2005.
