GE after the bell 07/06/06: NBC snagging some Emmy attention, but not as much as the other networks

More

GE ended the day $33.50, up 19 cents, a nice little jump of over slightly over half a percent.

NBC got some notice for the Emmys with hit show 24 getting a lot of nominations, but overall NBC trailed HBO, ABC, and CBS in general nominations, still leaving it the lesser of the 'big three.' HBO, with some 95 nominations, certainly stood out. Its ability to create shows without network censor oversight is no doubt a source of continuing frustration to networks like NBC which cannot get away with being as edgy. The FCC and networks are still, however, battling that one out in the courts.
