eBay Inc. (NASDAQ: EBAY) shares had another strong day today, climbing 1.99% or 58 cents to close at $29.68.
What's made the really big news today at eBay were reports that someone had actually put mummified human remains for sale on the auction-site.
eBay does allow sales of skeletons for medical use, but not human remains. The auction was closed and the seller, from Port Huron, questioned by the police. The police have also taken the remains for examination and said that it is very very old. If you're curious, or simply a big CSI fan, here's a picture.
According to the seller, a friend who works in demolition said he found the remains in a Detroit school he helped demolish nearly 30 years ago.
I don't know what's worse, a mummy being up for sale, or the fact that there was already one bidder for $500 before eBay yanked the auction.
