I'm pretty certain that almost all who hear about this Bling H2O ... what, you haven't heard? Let me enlighten you.
"Bling H2O is the inspiration of Kevin G. Boyd, Hollywood writer-producer." Apparently, Boyd noticed, while working in Hollywood of course, that people carried around their water bottle as a fashion statement. So just like any other savvy business person, he decided to capitalize on his finding. "Our product is strategically positioned to target the expanding super-luxury consumer market."
I'm going to stop quoting here 'cause ... well ... it just sounds a little hollow to me, especially since you've probably already guessed it; Bling H2O is nothing but glorified bottled water. Plain and simple. That's all it is. The water doesn't even come from some romantic location in the Alps, but from Tennessee (yes, yes, with a gazillion steps of purification). The thing that really makes Bling H2O stand out or unique is the bottle, which is hand-crafted and decorated with Swarovski crystals (nice). Price tag? $35 a bottle.
Most of you would say, I'm certain, Oh, brother! Many would probably also add a snarky remark and assure the people around them they'd rather spend the $35 on something else, say dinner. But come on, let's be honest here. How many of us would buy one? Just one. And then maybe fill it up with tap or Dasani water (well, especially if you're a McDonald's shareholder), so we could flaunt it around?
As for the viability of this business venture, which many may laugh at, I'd say that if Rolexes and Rolls-Royces have a place in this world, why shouldn't Bling H2O?

I would buy bling h2o. I think it's a good idea, actually I wish I would have come up with the idea. I just can't stand the hater's who can't indulge in life's riches. Don't hate by calling us shallow or stupid. I'm sure bling h2o will be a very hot seller.

At first, when I looked at it, I was like, "WHAT? $35 for a glass of water???" But the bottle IS cute, I would probably buy one bottle of it, save the bottle, and constantly refill it with Aquafina. Let's face it people. How many other things have we just "trashed" $35 on? I think the bottle is very creative. But the first person DID make a good point when they said that you could just go to an arts and crafts store like Michael's make your own. I may go that route.

Thank goodness there are people dumb enough to spend $35 on a bottle of water. Dumb people like that is what keeps this economy running! It also means there is room for my pocket lent business! Anyone mentally ill enough to allow their ego to tell them they need a $35 bottle of water is stupid enough to pay $200 for pocket lent if i came from someone famous. Taxes must not be high enough on the rich if they can afford $35 bottled water!

"all you stupid wanna be "gangstas" will probably buy this bottle of water so it makes you feel of the other race. just you remember you are white and always will be. and to the other race you probably cant afford it so stop pretending like you can. we all know you go home to your run down houses, with 25 kids and you are on welfare. stop spending my tax money on flashy things that you cant afford."
What do you mean? This has nothing to do
with "gangsta" or race.Plus,your post
was insulting.

Regardless of the ultimate success or failure of this venture, it's a little depressing that the marketers feel there are apparently enough shallow twits out there to make it commercially viable. BTW, there is NO EVIDENCE WHATEVER that plastic drink bottles release harmful chemicals into your body. Also, buying water at $35.00 a bottle is hugely different from paying $300,000 for a '66 Corvette. The new owner of the Stingray stands a good chance of reselling immediately for something close to his/her cost.

I'm late to this blog's article, but I got a chuckle out of it.
Every time I go to the supermarket, I see people coming outside after they've paid a couple dollars for a small quart bottle of water. This is while I'm at the Glacier water machine filling up reusable Sunny Delight gallon bottles for 25 cents each.
Most of you are saying people are foolish to spend $35 for bottle water; I feel it's foolish to spend even $2 if there is a water machine nearby.
Just think, with all the money they saved by doing this, they could spend it to buy my book. Hey, by not spending $35 on the blink water, they could actually buy TWO of my books. (laughing)

Maybe they will come out with auto water, for the jet set, gallon water for $100 for the Rolls Royce radiator. Put in fancy glass gallon containers to put in the trunk of your car and have the chauffer fill the radiator when it heats up. What do you think?

I think the bottle is cool looking, and yes i think it does resemble the Hypnotiq bottle. I would probably buy ONE. Its something different, and NO i dont want it to fit in or look cool. Different and odd things are drawn to me.It was a good idea, BUT it is kinda pricey. Therefore thats why i'd but one, if any.

Ok - really!!! Come on people!! It's water! Not like it's some name brand ink cartridge or toner cartridge that you are forced to buy because you are duped into believing it's the only Ink or toner that will work in your machine. It's water!! Most people can get water from their own house - and in like 3-4 different spouts in that house! Granted, most municipal water is really not that great, ie .. Fargo, ND (yuck!), but if that is the case goto the local grocery store and buy a gallon of reverse osmosis water for like .80/gallon, and if you save and clean your own gallon jugs...it's .29/ gallon.
Personally I would have to see anyone who carries one of these bottles of water around as one of two things: 1) really vain and think that this is some sort of status symbol 2) just plain stupid.
My 2 cents.

Bling h2o in New York
As outrageous as it sounds, Bling h2o does quite well in its market. While some may think it ridiculous for $35.00 per bottle, there really is some value in splurging sometimes--hey life is too short. I too think its a very attractive reminder to all of us to drink more water. And of course the bottle is so beautiful!
