There's no way I'm buying Microsoft regardless of the potential financial benefit. There's no way I could contribute to the financial well-being of a company that does so many anticompetitive actions.

Microsoft is a shrewd player in a competitive marketplace. It has committed anticompetitive monopolistic acts in the past, but these days, its long-term success is no longer guaranteed.
In the near-term, I'm very optimistic about MSFT and think "outperform" may be an understatement. They are very well positioned for this coming year with their two, main products getting highly anticipated upgrades. They also appear to be properly exploring and expanding new businesses (i.e. Internet services and X-Box).
...I'm glad I've held on to my stock!

When it comes to purchasing stocks, it's about the cash flow.
Microsoft has plenty and give dividends to it's shareholders.
If you want to make money, MSFT is a good choice. If you want to make excuses, well you're not into making money then.

The richest guy of all time is not ever-EVER-ever going to let his baby (MS) be second for very long.
I don't know anyone who does use sometype of MS product.
