Bloggingstocks has just received an interesting tip that the Apple iPhone will have a January 15 release date. Apple's Macworld Expo runs from January 9 -12, and the money is on Apple to announce at Macworld that the iPhone exists and will ship at some future date. This tip alleges that iPhone's release date (the shipping and purchasing date) will be just days after Macworld Expo.
This does several things for Apple Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). One, it will beat analyst's expectations of when the iPhone will actually get into customer's hands and create some serious buzz.
Two, it will be rapidly available after one of Apple's biggest announcement events (many new models and products from Apple are touted at MacWorld).
And three? It positions Apple for further interest in its stock, as many investors gauge Apple stock based solely on its iPod offerings.
If this forwarded rumor (and we emphasize that it is a rumor) is true, then the recent drawing back of Apple's stock price into the 80s might represent a buying opportunity for an investor with some room for risk.
If Apple announces a January 15th iPhone, will you be buying one?
Update: The iPhone release date of June 29 has been confirmed as of June 3, 2007.

I've put off getting a new phone to replace my Sony/Ericsson for 5 months now...I can wait another month or two for an iPhone.

I've been using a 5 year old phone, waiting for the iPhone to arrive. As I use macs and iPods, and they "just work", I'll be getting an iPhone, and I'm sure it will not disappoint. My wife's Razr has a terrible interface. I'm betting the iPhone will blow the other phones away.

After struggling every year to get my work-supplied cell phone to work as a modem on my work PowerBook - I will jump at the chance for a cell phone that syncs, and can get me online, without a fight.

Rumors of the iphone are already priced into the stop so don't expect much of a move especially until it actually ships. People are more focused on diminishing itunes store sales as that affects apple's numbers in the immediate term and some of the buzz from iTV will be lost if apple isn't able to shift the content via iTunes.

My plan is up w/ Cingular early February, so I'll be buying a Mac phone the second the link comes up. Hopefully they'll have enough made to not sell out.

hell yeah! Being a recent convert to the MacBook and had a blissful experience since whilst my PC collegues suffer, I would say the iPhone with its potential multi-radio (lets say GSM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and maybe even RFID reader!) and heaps of storage running a cool interface, it would supersede my (often) crashing Motorola L7 and my iMate...bring it on at a real cost!

I still have my old Siemens M55. I've had it for almost 3 years now, so it might be on time for a change. And as I see it, the iPhone would be the perfect replace. I don't have any Apple hardware by now, but I'm seriously considering buying the iPhone, simply because it can't be anything but cool. I hope we'll here some from Apple very soon!

I hear there may be two models, a simpler one and a higher end one. Here are details on my take on the higher end handheld device - 16:9 touch screen, GSM phone, media player, Apple Remote Desktop, much more.

Yes, I will buy an iPhone, and maybe three more for my business partners. I am hoping for a combo of a satellite phone with a great (simple) interface, a Newton with not only handwriting recognition but also voice (no keyboard needed), a big screen for movies and ebooks, an iPod, GPS, touch screen, OSX Lite, radio reception, XM reception, fax, email, camera, and some huge 21st Century surprise that will revolutionize our lives. Well...it could happen, couldn't it? Might cost a bit more than $400 I suppose. I'll bet it will have at least three to five of the items above. I would pay $1000, maybe more if it all worked and didn't weigh too much.

I signed up for a pay as you go service in September (I had to get a new phone) just so I wouldn't be stuck in a contract when the iPhone comes out. I hope your story is right. Jan. 15th will be a nice day for me to buy a new phone.

Not possible, folks. The FCC has a publicly-disclosable review period for 30+ days before public release. Apple will need to pre-announce its phone at least a month in advance so that we don't dig the dirt from the FCC public database.

I would love to. Been waiting for two years for this thing to come out, but unless it has at least 20GB of storage I'm going to have to wait. Maybe the 2nd gen version.

This would be great but how would they be able to build and supply 12 million phones without back ordering this January? I suspect that they will announce a ship date and not everyone will be able to get one on time.

The 30 in the Macintosh SE30 referred to the specific processer it used (68030). It did not come with a hard drive. It was one of the first computers with an 800k floppy drive. Hard drives were external and hooked up to the computer using SCSI.
And yes, I will be getting an iPhone when they become available.
