Confirming recent rumors, Ben & Jerry's -- a subsidiary of Unilever ADR (NYSE:UL) -- has named a new ice cream flavor in honor of former Daily Show correspondent and current Colbert Report host, Stephen Colbert. The flavor, "Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream," is vanilla ice cream, speckled with fudge-covered waffle cone pieces and a ripple of caramel. In familiar tongue in cheek fashion, Colbert commented that "Dessert has a well-known liberal agenda . . . What I hope to do with this ice cream is bring some balance back to the freezer case." The socially-conscious ice cream firm has a long history with unusual flavor names. In the company's "flavor graveyard" are From Russia with Buzz, Bovinity Divinity, and Pulp Addiction. Current offerings include Vermonty Python, Phish Food (named after the oddly popular jam band from Vermont), and of course, Cherry Garcia.
And now I'm surprisingly peckish. Better read about Bilk again to curb my appetite.

Stehpen Colbert is the funniest man on television. His first year he gets in the dictionary, his second year he gets ICE CREAM named after him, Ben and Jerry's no less. King of political satire.
