I just wanted to take a minute to congratulate Suze Orman on having the courage to stand up and speak out for her rights. In an interview with the New York Times, the Queen of Personal Finance said that she has a life partner, and spoke up about the importance of legal protection for all Americans: "Yes. Absolutely. Both of us have millions of dollars in our name. It's killing me that upon my death, K.T. is going to lose 50 percent of everything I have to estate taxes. Or vice versa."
It's great to see the woman who has been so vocal about the importance of financial responsibility with her classic books like The Money Book for the Young, Fabulous, and Broke and her latest book, Women and Money, take a stand for another cause she believes in. I wish her all the best, and I will continue to watch her show on CNBC for her terrific financial advice. Favorite segment: Can I afford it? If you don't already watch the show, make sure you start.

Oh for heaven sakes Suze. If you both have millions neither one of you needs to inherit. Give it to charity. And if the usual charities don't thrill you Save-A-Dog in Framingham, MA (PO Box 1108, Zip 01701)and Canine Working Companions in Syracuse, NY (PO Box 2128, Zip 13220) are both great places and I say this not even owning a dog. As a matter of fact they could probably use your help right now.

Suze! I love your show (though I can only catch it at 4:30 a.m.)! I listen to everything you say and we have taken secure steps with our finances and investments. I think what you are doing is super and that the example you are setting is what people really need to do to protect their assets.

Suze it is no ones business but yours what you do with your money. I would suggest that you put it in trust for her and with you retaining control till you die. I sure you know what I am talking about and how to do it. Ignore the mental midgets who just want to give you a hard time. You having a life partner is just your business and no one elses.

You go girl! I wish the politicians would wake up and realize that just because someone doesn't believe what they believe, doesn't mean they are wrong. Remember the "authorities" used to burn people at the stake or put them in colonies if they were different than "they" were. Not much has changed. They just moved into bigger houses. You should have the right to marry whomever you wish.

I applaud your guts to say and protect what you have earned both in love and business. Only the small and petty will find fault because misserables love company and attention. Keep your focus on happiness which is the true gold standard.
