If you have to sin -- go for the Big One!!

don't eat your veggiesOkay, let me think here for a moment, I have had a tough week in the stock market; something about issues in China that started it all. Oh well, people saw a dip in their savings and net worth this week... but hey, I feel good. After all I have no plans to go to China or even eat Chinese tonight. I actually feel great because let's see... Monday , I ate organically-raised salmon with a few raw vegetables!! Tuesday and Wednesday I had different variations of broiled chicken with a couple of different sauces... I am so wicked. The fresh veggies were accompanied with rice -- healthy brown rice of course. Man, I am good... following this health regime like a trooper. My doctor is going to be so proud of me! I've lost 4 pounds in 3 weeks... gimme more veggies, green, yellow, red... love em all!!

I snacked on carrot sticks Tuesday and Wednesday evening and feeling a bit naughty, I even added an herb dip on Wednesday... man, I am going to become patient-of-the-week. Thursday was the coup de gras or whatever it is the French say -- I had baked trout, with lemon juice on the side, of course, and a baked potato, no butter, no chives, just low-fat sour cream. I had a high-fiber breakfast cereal every day this week... so who cares about the stock market's bad week, I had fantastic returns from eating right and feeling good. Those old jeans aren't so snug anymore!!

Friday evening... let's see, the chicken looks boring, the trout and salmon look and taste like cardboard -- I have had it!! I am going to splurge and the doctors and nurses can kiss my $%^&&... off I go to "Heart Attack Grill"!!

Let me splurge, let me savor the fine taste of this huge, monstrous burger... and gimme those lard-laden fries... oh gosh is this good... no, this is great... and I want three beers, one before my meal, one with my meal and one final one to wash it all down. This is the way men and women were meant to live... err, eat.!! Heck, I reminded my "nurse," Heart Attack Grill's name for waitress, that I even heard about a caveman who lived past 90 on a high fat, high cholesterol diet. Mind you I told her that after my third beer -- not sure if my facts were straight. Was the caveman 90 or did I see it upside down and he was really only 60? Who cares, I am splurging and loving it!! I'll eat tofu all of next week, I'll eat veggies with my Wheaties... whatever it takes to make up for my sins, I'll do it... Oh gosh, this burger is soooo good and juicy.

Heart Attack Grill of Tempe, Arizona does not even sell a vegetable and using the words "low fat" is tantamount to falsely screaming fire in a crowded theater... not a good idea. The owner and founder, Jon Basso, has felt the heat from the local medical community. His response is one of simplicity and correctness: "don't eat here every day of the week, it'll kill you." His plan to very carefully build out the concept is a smart one: 10 units in 20 years in exotic, enticing cities like Amsterdam, New Orleans and Rio de Janeiro. Smart -- don't dilute the brand like the Hard Rock Cafe or Planet Hollywood.

This guy is savvy -- he's tapped into our bad boy/bad girl side. Locals and tourists flock to this restaurant in droves. It might end up being ranked right up there with the Grand Canyon as a destination! Who knows if Heart Attack Grill will go public one day, if it does, the shareholders may get a side order of Lipitor to go with the meal. If you're gonna sin... why not do it right?!!

Hey, stop... wait... isn't that my doctor sitting in the corner and red-faced?!!!
