Barnes & Noble Inc. (NYSE: BKS) online subsidiary will take a $10 million charge related to an investigation of stock option granting practices after the company found numerous instances of improperly dated stock option grants between 1996 and 2006. Meanwhile, rival Borders Group Inc. (NYSE: BGP) will review its proposed offering of $250 million of convertible senior notes based on shareholder feedback instead of proceeding with the offering as planned.

Yesterday, Best Buy Co., Inc. (NYSE: BBY) said it would start carrying Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) computers in 200 stores after it tested selling the brand successfully earlier this year in 50 stores. According to Apple officials, about half of those who buy Macs at Apple's retail stores are first time Macintosh buyers.

Dell Inc. (NASDAQ: DELL) yesterday said it would delay filing its annual 10-K financial report due to an ongoing accounting investigation, but still told the Securities and Exchange Commission what it expects to report. For the full-year, Dell expects a profit of about $2.6 billion, or $1.16 per share compared to $3.5 billion, or $1.46 per share last year and $1.19 expected by analysts. Dell also expects to report annual revenue of about $57 billion, up from $55.9 billion and less than the $58.22 expected by analysts. Dell shares are flat in pre-market trading.

Toyota Motor Corp. (NYSE: TM) sold 66% more vehicles in mainland China and Hong Kong in the first quarter than a year earlier, outpacing General Motors Corp. (NYSE: GM) 25% growth in China. Other car makers have yet to release China figures.

Google Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG) -- Should Google's YouTube remove a political contentious clip? Well, the Thai government banned the site and blocked it yesterday despite Google removing a short film deemed insulting to the country's beloved monarch but kept several still images.
Yesterday, Google also unveiled My Maps, a tool that allows users to share their knowledge about their neighborhoods and other favorite places by creating customized maps that can assemble information from a variety of sources.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) apologized to certain shareholders it deemed a threat according to the Wall Street Journal. Wal-Mart also said it was expanding its employee-established effort on "Personal Sustainability Projects."

PepsiCo Inc. (NYSE: PEP) is launching a contest, inviting creative types in a challenge to design a new younger, hipper look for its cans. Winner would be paid $10,000 and have their design on 500 million Pepsi cans.

Microsoft Corp.'s (NASDAQ: MSFT) continuing its efforts to refute allegations in the European Unions regarding its royalties, saying considers the royalties it charges rivals for licensing communications code fair.

Nokia Corp. (NYSE: NOK) said it has paid Qualcomm, Inc. (NASDAQ: QCOM) $20 million for the use of third-generation patent licenses in the second quarter. The companies are also in the midst of negotiations over the renewal of a major cross-license agreement due to expire on Monday.

The new AIDS drug Prezista made by Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) unit Tibotec Pharmaceuticals Ltd. performed very well in halting the onslaught of the disease in people with advanced infection.
