I like to call them "superphones" but the industry phrase is "smart phones," and the best of the bunch still exist in our collective imagination and in sparkling light-on-black press photos on the internet: the Apple iPhone (due out June 29), the LG Prada ("late summer") and the Foleo, a companion to the Palm Treo (more "late summer").
While many of the details are known, of course, I haven't actually touched any of these superphones. But that's part of the deliciousness. I can already tell you which one I want to have in my big purple knitted bag immediately (the iPhone) and which I'm fine admiring from afar, and on the cover of US Magazine (LG Prada) and which I might only buy if I was far more idle and in possession of way more disposable income than I now have (Palm Foleo).

Yea! I can't wait to get the new Apple I-Phone. I really don't need a phone except to gossip relentlessly and to have a new bill sent to my mailbox. But its worth it to be seen by other people that I am cool.

I am in a current contract and I have to get out of my contract before I can get the i-phone. I used celltradeusa last year to get out of my Verizon Wireless Contract. I plan on using celltrade again no to get out again so I can jump into an I-Phone. I am anxiously awaiting the next wave of cell phones, but this article is the worst cell phone comparison I've read to date. What about synchronization of contacts with Outlook 2007 or other venues? Will any of them utilize Windows Mobile 6.0? How do the touch screens compare? What about carrying cases, dimensions and weight comparisons? etc. Of course, I suppose if we all carried "big, purple knitted bags" none of these details would matter.
