Are you poking people when you should be working? Do you closest friends refer to you as a "Myspace whore" behind your back? If so, you may want (or not want) to download Notworking, a nifty little program that will tell you how much time you've spent on Facebook. You can input how much you earn, and the site will tell you how much money you've given up surfing. comScore says that the average person spends 186 minutes on Facebook each time they log in.
According to Forbes.com. "Some companies are flat out banning use of these sites at work. And earlier this year, Sen. Matt Murphy, R-Ill., introduced a bill to prohibit public libraries and schools from allowing access to social networking sites on any computers available to the public and students."
Wonderful. The Feds still haven't cleaned up New Orleans, and now they're going to go into every public library and school to demand that they stop letting people check their Myspace's and Facebooks. Isn't this supposed to be the party of small government?
