Aside from the recent pullback, the bulls have been having their way with Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL). But now there is pretty compelling evidence that all is not well with the iPhone.
You can now save $100 on an iPhone by snapping up a refurbished one on the company's website. So far iPhone sales have fallen well short of expectations, and there are two possible explanations for the refurbished models. It's possible that they were returned by speculators who were hoping to resell them on eBay but were disappointed when Apple had enough stock.
That may be part of it, but it seems likely that a lot of people are just unimpressed with the expensive new phone.
Kevin Kelly has written that Apple stock is priced for perfection. So far the iPhone, expected to be a major growth driver, has been performing far from perfectly. Will the stock follow the phone down into the "Returned due to poor performance -- Save 20%" bin?

Wow??
Everyone is far too polite to you Zac - quite simply this article is cretinous. I don't see it as trying to short the stock - for that to happen the argument has to be compelling and have verifiable 'facts'. It would also need to be picked up by other stock market bloggers and run... no such chance with this drivel. It's merely become an exercise in self-harm.
Stupid is as stupid does.
Congratulations dipstick
..and Warren..oh never mind...

It's one thing to have an opinion, it's completely another to make an uninformed, biased statement. Too bad your post comes off as the latter.
Interesting, even a fellow writer on this site states that iPhone sales are doing well (Douglas McIntyre, http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2007/08/18/a-very-odd-week-for-apple-aapl/, fourth paragraph), and goes so far as to back it up with a link to an even more legitimate source than you came up with.
Wait... that's right, you don't have a source for your claim.
I nominate you for daringfireball.net's Jackass of the Week.

Zac,
You're pretty much known as a blogger that doesn't let facts or details get in the way of a compelling inaccurate headline and today's is no exception.
You're still clueless and proof positive that in order to write intelligently about something one has to actually know something and, oh yeah, be intelligent.
The next thing you should write is the order at the table your waitering at, maybe that would come out sounding smarter.

I think the problem is simply that the iphone cost so damn much, a few years ago, there were problems with items being instock because, well frankly, the items were expensive but still affordable. Today new tech items cost over $500! Who wants to spend that much on something that is only gonna add more bills on a month to month basis? The PS3 cost to much, and Sony quickly learned this, and droped the price(to late) Microsoft knew this and added bolt parts to buy sepreatly. People like to buy things slowly, they dont like to go home broke! Iphone= expensive, monthly bill to simply replace what people have already. (tape a nano to yr cell phone and you are done! I think all the good comments about the iphone are from the people who own Iphones and are simply tring to make them selves feel better for spending so much on an item that will last them a year, cuz lets be honest, how long does your cell phone usaully last anywayz?

Hi all,
Please be gentle on the Blogger, as this blog is by no mean a news source. With that said, if any one in the retail business would know, there is time you just need to put out a "Sale" just to generate more transaction. There could be some irregularity on the item or there may not be any thing wrong. By put it under Refurbished Apple is basically has a reason for a discount sale. I am in the Jewelry business, there are people whose willing to buy an item at $600 but there are others will only do it at $500, either way I still make money, just less, so why not! I don't know the reason behind Apple's Refurbished IPhone, but the conclusion or conclusions that the blogger come up with has no validation what soever.
