It is no surprise that we at BloggingStocks are no less prone to grab a headline with sexual provocation to increase our hit rate. That we did when we posted a story on Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) and their unhappiness with a young women's attire, our most popular story of the week. Having such success, like every other tabloid in the country, we could not resist a story (or two or three) about a young Disney (NYSE: DIS) starlet having some obscure personal photos, including a nude, pandered on the web.
News is news and there is no hiding from the headlines. However, I write this story almost in a self-referential manner with self conscious feelings, as well because I can't write it without being accused of the same malady, so I feel some confusion about the issue. For this reason I decided not to refer to any of the other stories and not to link to any photos, sorry to disappoint some of you -- search elsewhere.
I think both stories would better serve our readers and our website if there was a deeper analysis (or at least some) of Disney or Southwest, from an investment perspective, accompanying the stories.
For the record, and the investors among you, Disney closed down Friday at $33.59 but moved up 1% after hours. The stock should be on your watch list for a buying opportunity (not because of any photos) and is starting to look like a value play to me. I will write more about this in the coming week. Southwest on the other hand is in the Airline business and that I would stay away from under almost any circumstances. It closed down about 2% on Friday to $14.82 and continued the trend after hours. This I will not be writing about further. Disney is far better regardless of which scantily clad female grabbed more headlines.

I was delighted years ago when Disney stock was among those left to me in my parents' will. I'm a child of the 1950's and grew up watching TV as Disneyland was created. Hearing about this scantily clad woman doesn't have any impact on this continued delight, and I bet Walt wouldn't be bothered by the news either.
