Apparently winning the Noble Peace price will help you while not running for President. After winning the Noble Peace prize today -- shared with a UN committee -- Al Gore jumped about 5% to a 13% chance on getting the Democratic nomination according to the Intrade.com prediction markets, passing Obama who is at 11.5%. With a 69% chance of winning the democratic nomination Hillary Clinton isn't really in any danger, but I have to give Gore credit. He is
doing really well for not even running.
While neither is likely, the oil companies could be big losers if Gore gets in the white house. I wouldn't short them yet; but companies like Exxon Mobile Corporation (NYSE: XOM) and Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) would be losers.
What are your thoughts?

Go Gore - If he had only been allowed to take office of President when he won. Think of all of the turmoil, misery, suffering and expense we would have avoided.
That W is the worst President in our history and that will be his hallmark displacing Warren G. Harding.

It is a travesty of justice that Al Gore was cheated out of the presidency by the brother of the worst President this country has ever had. An investigation into this matter should have been initiated long ago and the right man should have been declared the winner. Now we have to live with the legacy of a tyrant and his distruction of the United States leadership as seen through the eyes of every nation on this earth.

Al Gore lost the 2000 election because he asked for a recount in parts of Florida and not the entire state;he lost because a boy was rescued at sea and returned to Cuba;he lost because members of the jewish community in palm springs could not read a ballot;he lost because he could not win his home state;he lost because the republican appointed justices quickly stopped the re-count and declared W the winner. They all laughed (the right wing) but look at Al Gore now. He`s more famous than anybody and W will end up on the scrap heap of history. To think what America could have been like, it troubles my sleep.

-- AL GORE won the 2000 Presidential Elections to begin with. BUSH, SR., BUSH , JR., are life members of SKULL & BONES Yale, University.
Great effort was made to falsify the election results. Election fraud in seven Florida counties Jeb Bush, brother of George W. Bush Jr., Volusia County Memos Disclose Election 2000 Vote Fraud ....
Bush, Gore election, the passion on Bush v. Gore doesn’t fade. People will never stop being angry – especially because the George W. Bush ... is a LIAR. Gore actually won the 2000 election. Blatant and unconscionable fraud prevented him from taking ... presidency!
BUSH, SR., then head of CIA altered BUSH, JR., record to reflect honorable service when in fact he was AWOL, Bush "AWOL," or "absent without leave," George W. Bush's National Guard Records.

Many people in Florida who voted for Al Gore in 2000 were really voting for Joe Lieberman-- Lieberman had a lot of popularity there.
Anyway, that election is over. George W Bush probably will be looked upon more favorably in future years even though he isn't that popular now in many quarters. People overlook successes- the good economy, lower taxes, some relief from the double tax on dividends, some diplomatic success with Korea and Libya, and a strong response to the 911 attacks and the early successes in Afghanistan among other things. When it comes to a thoughtful appraisal of his accomplishments he will come out better than with all this overly critical dumping. Katrina was a mess but due to bureaucratic problem at all levels and a change of priorities to fighting terror which likely would have occurred in any administration given the circumstances. People can point to Iraq as a bad choice but the surge is working at the moment.
In the meantime, Barack Obama has ruffled feathers of foreign leaders and more recently our Congress has managed to insult one of our most critical allies in the war on terror and in the Middle East to the point where Turkey's ambassador to the US has headed for home at a time when Turkey is massing troops on the Iraqi border. The point is foreign affairs are often delicate and complicated. I do think many people might look favorably on Al Gore at least because he has more experience than many of the other candidates. You can't just expect somebody to say they will negotiate with everybody as though they have some magic wand. Whoever the next President is they will have a short honeymoon period and a time to then blame the past leader but ultimately they will have to handle tough problems like the spread of nuclear weapons and the threat of terrorism, the rise of China and the threat of protectionism.

Certainly not dopey "I'll say what ever you want to hear" Al Gorey, or even worse, John Fairy. Gimme a break here! W is by far the best President since well, George Herbert Walker Bush! CLITon I & CLITon II did and will make this country a hazardous place to live. Why doesn't Chelsea just run, I'd at least for for her. Oh, Oh , better yet how about a famous drunk who got away with murder, that's right FAT Teddy Kennedy! Wow, imagine a country run by educated idiots like that. Spare me please.

Go Al Gore! You were robbed by George W. and those crooked Republicans (including then-governor Jeb Bush) in FL. You would have helped us stay out of Iraq and would have pushed global warming and other environmental matters to the forefront. It has been thrown WAY BACK by the current administration in order to PROFIT off of oil. We need a strong Democrat to get this country back on track. Hillary just isn't that.

So what is the Noble Prize? I knew there was something wrong when it was said that Algore had won a Nobel Peace Prize. Nothing about him qualifies him for anything like that.

Al Gore an envirimentalist? What a joke. The Gore family have been bagmen for Occidental Petroleum for decades. Ammand Hammer the CEO of Occidental Petroleum established a trust for Al Gore Sr., U.S. Senator from Tennesse in return for what Senator Gore could do for Occidental Petroleum.
And Al Gore Jr. continued the process by engineering the sale of our oil reserves at Elk Hill to Occidental Petroleum.
Al Gore is a typical Democrat god with clay feet right up to his hips!

Without being either Democrat or Republican I must say Bush is a terrible president! We spend 10 billion a month for a war we can't win but are too scared to admit it!! 50 million people including me don't have health insurance cause the drug companies buy off the politicians. Gas prices are the highest ever and Global Warming is starting to kick our asses cause we don't want to give up our gas guzzling SUV's. This country is all about money and profit and doesn't take care of our own people but gives benefits ti illegal aliens. If you want to become a citizen in the US then I think you should go help rebuild New Orleans and pay taxes like the rest of us!! There will be no money left for Social Security or Medicare cause our stupid govt. spends our tax dollars on wars and illegals and won't help rebuild New Orleans. The oil companies have had their highest profit ever last year because Bush who owns part of an oil company can pad his pockets at our expense. Oh by the way-he was a C-student in college-do we really think a C-student can run this country? Duh obviously not because he's not smart enough.
