In the wake of her divorce from ex-98 Degree hunk Nick Lachey and the disappointing box office showing of Dukes of Hazzard, a noteworthy debut for her latest movie, Blonde Ambition, was just what the former pop princess needed.
But this was not what the doctor ordered. The movie was thought to be headed for direct to DVD release but they decided to give it a shot in Texas theaters. It grossed $384 in its opening -- $48 per screen, 6 people per showtime, and a total of 48 viewers.
Ouch. They could blame the fact that the movie has been available for illicit download online for weeks, but that only garnered 6000 viewers -- who could watch it at home. On their computers. For free.
Another high-profile flop only adds to the perception that Ms. Simpson is washed up. Her latest album was a bust too, and even her much-vaunted line of edible cosmetics showed up at closeout stores very quickly.
After her divorce from Lachey, nearly everyone thought he would fade into oblivion while Simpson's star ascended. Instead the opposite happened, with Nick scoring a hit solo album in What's Left of Me.
This is looking like Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin all over again -- When that duo split, Lewis was supposed to emerge as the solo star but instead it was Dino, who reinvented himself as the essence of cool.

You have to admit though that she is definitely one hot piece of ass! I would buy her movie for sure if it had nudity in it!
