This post is one of several on business heirs apparent. Let us know in the comments whether you think Bindi Irwin should take up the reigns of her father's conservation/entertainment empire, and be sure to check out the other heir apparent posts.
Most dads don't need a reason to be proud of their little girls. Just the fact that our daughters are our own little princesses can produce pride enough for even the roughest dudes. The proposition is rendered even sweeter when you're out in public and your little girl acts like a perfect lady beside you. But perhaps the greatest pride producer of all is when your daughter conducts herself like a lady in your absence. Such is the priceless tribute paid to the the legacy of the late Steve Irwin, by his daughter Bindi Irwin, each and every day.
Blessed with her father's innate connection to wildlife and a quick, cute wit that is her own, Bindi Irwin has forged ahead in her father's absence to carry the messages of nature conservation. With the caring guidance of Terri Irwin, her stout-hearted and intelligent mother, Bindi has traveled extensively, including promotional visits to New York and Los Angeles. Additionally, when she's not globe trotting, Bindi makes regular entertainment appearances at the Animal Planet Crocoseum, in conjunction with Australia Zoo.
The tireless exploits of Bindi Irwin have led her directly into the spotlight. On March 5, the Australia Zoo website announced that Bindi has been nominated for a Logie Award. Logies are Australian television awards, in existence since 1958. Bindi Irwin has been nominated for Most Popular New Talent--Female. It is said that she has been nominated along side some very popular actresses.
Could we say that Bindi Irwin has stepped up to fill her father's shoes? I'd not hesitate to say that in her own way she has. Every bit as engaging and caring as her father, she carries the torch of animal conservation across the world. That pursuit works for her because she lives it. Bindi Irwin will turn ten years old on July 24, 2008. She's accomplished a considerable amount of good in her tender years.
The daughter of Steve Irwin has conducted herself as a lady does. There could be no greater tribute that she could give to her father. I hope you'll join me in expressing this earnest message to Australia's darling jewel: We're proud of you Bindi. You're a very good daughter.

She will definelty be a force to reckoned with as she comes of age. What adult could not take heed as this child speaks of facts and the importance of our wildlife? Her intelligence and quick wit pay homage to her parents. Terri has done a beautiful job in the midst of such heartache at the loss of Steve. The empathy shown by this child is worth all the gold in the world, who could deny her?

Terri Irwin is a marvelous parent and has made remarkable steps with her daughter while dealing with the death of her adored husband, Steve. Bindi is a beautiful child inside and out as her mom is and her dad was. I pray that she knows the Lord Jesus as eternal life is the most important area of life.

Some people criticize the Irwin family, saying that Bindi is being exploited. I applaud the Irwins; they work for animal conservation, and Bindi is doing her part by making animals even more appealing to children her own age, making them want to learn. It was Bindi's own idea to record music & perform with her Crocmen, as well as have her own TV show "Bindi the Jungle Girl." If she didn't want to do those things, she wouldn't. Bindi's music & TV show are part of her way of connecting with other children about animals. Her education isn't interfered with, since she's home-schooled. She's been able to stay with her family, and travel around the world, seeing and doing things most of us never will. No wonder she's so well-adjusted! Congratulations to Steve & Terri for raising such a wonderful child (let's not forget about young Robert!) and to Terri for staying strong after losing Steve. Good luck to Bindi in carrying on her father's work. To the entire Irwin family, as well as the extended Australia Zoo family- Good on ya!

I think she's creepy-looking. She looks like a half-caste, and while there is nothing innately wrong with that, her mother's supposed to be a midwestern (US) farm girl, and her dad was supposed to have be caucasian.... so I think the bindster is either adopted, or papa was dippin his pen in some mighty strange ink. I don't find her cute at all. She makes my skin crawl-- she doesn't look right.

Bindi is adorable, she has no need to be prepped by her mom for a life she does'nt want, she is a natural,an inate sense of love for wildlife.
Most definitely the antithesis of the American child, she won't be in need of therapy in her teens,Bindi is who she is and that is what is so fantastic,God Bless the Aussie!

Bindi is a very lovely child, her zest for wildlife is so much like her fathers. I think Steve is smiling down at Bindi saying "Crikie she's good". I enjoy watching her. She is informative and a delight to watch. My prayers are with the Irwin family.
