Closing Bell: All Quiet Ahead of the Intel front

Producer prices rose almost twice as much as forecast in March, reflecting higher fuel and food costs that show more signs of a pickup in inflation. The 1.1% gain followed a 0.3% increase in the prior month. U.S. foreclosure filings jumped 57% and bank repossessions more than doubled in March from a year earlier as adjustable mortgages increased and more owners gave up their homes to lenders. May crude oil even came within one penny of $114 per barrel today.

Below are the unofficial closes for major US index levels:
Wednesday, and maybe even the rest of the week, will probably be dominated by Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC), with shares up 0.7% at $20.84 right before the close ahead of its major earnings report.

Capstone Turbine Corporation (NASDAQ: CPST) was a winner after Lazard more than doubled its price target for the company. The alternative energy stock rose nearly 4% to $2.70 with about 1 minute to the close.

Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) was a big winner after the company beat earnings projections. Shares rose almost 11% to $7.75 with about 1 minute to the market close.

Crocs Inc. (NASDAQ: CROX) showed that its ugly shoe fad was a total crock with an earnings warning last night and announcing it was closing its Canadian plant, sending shares down a monster 43% at $10.15 with 1 minute to the close.

Emulex Corporation (NYSE: ELX) was one of the worse performers in tech today on no organic news; thank that downgrade for a drop of 6.5% at $12.71 with 1 minute to the close.

Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ: NVTL) also saw the wrath of traders after it issued an earnings warning, sending shares down almost 23% at $7.72 with 1 minute to the close.
