I have to say I prefer Chevy over Ford any day. I am 48 years old and have owed one of each in my lifetime. Chevy always got me where and when i wanted to go somewhere and has never broke down on me ,like ford has. And it seems to me chevy auotmobile plants who make em' has more pride in the vehicles they make. Now the only vehicle i own is a chevy still after all these years. Keep on making the best product out the Chevrolet!

I drive a 1967 four wheel drive 3/4 ton Chevy. When it is done pulling your house off its foundation it can turn around and climb it anyday!
My daily driver is a 13 year old Ford Explorer with 225,000 on the clock. Never lets me down. Love 'em both too.

I am not sure what year truck that Gary tested but the Ford truck is much more solid than the Chevy truck. Gary should watch the truth about trucks and he could see the difference in how the two trucks are built! Park the two trucks on a slant on a hill and see which one has the bed still straight with the cab. It is not the Chevy!

When it comes to safety look at the wrap around the engine frame on the Ford versus the no frame around the engine at all in the Chevy. I have seen a Chevy truck T- bone a Ford Ranger and the Chevy 2500 got the worst of the bargain with the Chevy front end sitting in the drivers lap and the Ranger just banged up and the Ranger is a small truck!

As far as interiors the Ford has more interiors than the Chevy and if you see the Limited, King Ranch, Lariat or Harley Davidson you have lots of choices.

Have owned both, and I always drive them as long as possible. I am driving my second Chevy truck, in a row. I have gotten over twice the life out of the
vortec engines that I ever did with any of my Ford trucks. Guess you would say I am sold on the vortec engine !

I have owned or leased three Ford F-150's over the past 13 years and have found them to be rugged, reliable, comfortable, powerful and beautiful. Most people don't know that only Ford has a tubular frame. The others have frames that have one or two open sides and are, therefore) not nearly as strong. This is never apparent on the showroom floor because most buyers don't crawl underneath to look. Of course, as far a looks go, one man's meat is another man's poison.
Having said that, I prefer Ford's rounded curves (interior and exterior) to Silverado's boxier, hard lines.

I've driven Ford trucks over 950,000 miles over 35 years and they have never let me down. The current truck is a F-250 diesel @ 205,000 miles that still delivers 17 MPG even loaded to 8000 lbs. all the time. That said I think the Chevy is probably just as good...............It just depends on which one you are more comfortable with.

I've owned both Chevy and Ford, and as far as Ford goes, They don't make them like they used to. I owned (2) 71's, and a 72 Ford P/U. The 71's had a 302, and the other a 360. The 302 lacked the power I wanted and the 360 had so many miles, I couldn't tell the difference between the two. I did have a 390 in the 72 and even though it's from the same block as the 360, (called FE), I liked it so much I completly rebuilt it, and put that truck through some extreme punishment, and it didn't fail me once. One winter it was so cold,(wind chill -50 degrees), my 72 Ford P/U was the only vehicle in the apt. complex that started and even though I was Out of work due to the cold, that truck made up my lost wages giving people jump starts and offering rides to neighbors that had to get to work. I even got an ultimatum from my EX- Wife,her or the truck, she hated it. I guess I should have kept the truck- hence-EX in WIFE.

The Chevrolet side of the coin, I had a few 1/2 ton trucks in my time. Mostly late 80's models. Great reliable trucks once I got rid of the throtle body carbs, and the fuel switch between the two tanks,
(plumbed them together). Loved the rumble from the duel exhaust and the nice Cackel from a mild camshaft up grade.

Alltogether, I seem to favor the Chevy's over the Fords because of the economical value of replacement parts were a lot cheeper than that of the Fords. Once the 390 Ford was rebuilt, I would challenge (and did) a SS454 Chevy and quite easily enbarrased the driver of that pretty black SS454. That 390-3-on-the-tree made it look simple once I hit second gear. Guess he should've opted for the small-block.

Can't beat the ride and quiet of the Chevys.
Also, the GM Allison transmission is streets ahead of Ford in reliability.

When someone brags about their Ford transmission, it's always: "I know 5 guys that had to replace their Allisons".
- I've never met one of those "5 guys" yet.

The arguement will be moot as Toyota trucks get more popular, and Ford goes bankrupt.

All our Fords have been troublesome, and the dealers the worst to work with.

Any domestic truck is pretty good but I love my Dodge's. The power and styling in unmatched by ford or chevy. My Hemi has more than enough power for any job and the truck itself looks great.

I have driven Fords for years but I also had Chevys for many years before that. I love the Fords but I always buy used and would not hesitate to buy another Chevy for the right price. I consider both to be excellent trucks. Just don't try to even give me a Dodge.

I've been buying chevy trucks and cars since 1965. In my family it is a tradition. I have 4 kids and they all have chevy trucks. My truck is a 1995 and it has a little over 250,000 miles and still purrs. I get 30, yes 30 miles per gallon. The only time I ever drove a Ford truck it broke down on me and left me stranded and that was when cell phones were scarce in my family so since that happened I never trusted Ford. The last chevy I had was a 1980 dual tank and I gave that one to my son-in-law who is now sold on Chevys too. Try One You'll Like It.

I bought a new 2005 F350 Ford Powerstroke, it almost bankrupted me. I broke down 9 times in 8 months. Ford denied warranty even though the problems started at 57,000 miles. Chevrolet had a problem and extended coverage to 200,000 miles. No more Fords for me pickups or otherwise.

I have a 1997 F-150 4x4.Bought it used in 2005.It was a one owner vehicle with 85,000 miles on it.Very immaculate condition. I now have 133,000
miles on it.It still looks awsome and like new.I have put new shocks,radiator,tires,emission sensors.It runs like a dream.I am now going to buy a F-250 and still keeping my 150.They don't call them"FORD TOUGH FOR NOTHING".....

I have driven a FORD for over 40 years and I wouldn't own anything else. My F150 crew thinks it's a car, but works like a truck. Love it!

I had a 94 Silverado which was an excellent truck. It was a 3/4 ton that often hauled 1 1/2 tons. About the only thing i can recall replacing was the water pump at about 180,000 miles. I sold it (mistake) in 2005 with 204,000 miles and it barely had any rust, near new interior, and still ran quiet. I have a 2007 which is nice, but can't say it's as good as the 94. I like the chevy lines and dislike the ford the most of all trucks--hated that homely melted look. Actually, right now i would say the GMC is the best looking truck on the market. I also have heard the horror stories about the new fords and their service problems (seems to be on their larger/heavier models).
