David Rubenstein, the co-founder of the Carlyle Group, recently predicted we'd see a comeback in private equity deals. Although, the transaction amounts would range from $2 billion to $4 billion.
Well, based on reports from the Wall Street Journal (subscription only), we may see a new deal soon.
That is, the Weather Channel is in the midst of an auction. So far, the leading bidders include: Time Warner (NYSE: TWX) and a partnership of GE (NYSE: GE) and the Blackstone Group (NYSE: BX). It looks like the auction is in the second round.
Now, the GE-Blackstone partnership is interesting. Keep in mind that Blackstone has a long history of such arrangements. Basically, it helps to alleviate the financial burden. Besides, Blackstone has a proven track record of showing cooperation with major corporate alliance partners.
And the price tag for a deal? The range is about $3 billion to $4 billion. Unfortunately, it looks like the parent company of the Weather Channel – Landmark Communications – wanted to fetch $5 billion. But the credit crunch is still taking a toll on valuations.

GE, who is trying to corner a big share of the "green energy" BUSINESS for itself, already owns a national media outlet (NBC) to propogate its ideas and products that they make a good deal of profit on (Like the flourescent spiral lightbulbs that contains mercury that we will be FORCED to buy in a few years, around 2010). GE does this via the referencing of the "climate change" HOAX on the NBC television shows.
NOW GE wants to buy the WEATHER CHANNEL, so
they can use this channel to manipulate the American people into believing the fantasies of MAN-MADE "climage change", "global warming", "global cooling", "global dimming", or whatever it is called THIS YEAR.
Sounds like a business scam in the making...

yeah well seems to me the countries are already catching on to the 'man-made catastrophies'. Now they want to deceive God's people by manipulating His clouds and atmospheric pressures? He's no one's fool. Watch, one day they'll be deceived by their own weather lie and on that day God will send a cloud that bursts destructive lightning on top of their house with no warning to get out while they nap on what they thought would be a quiet afternoon. I think God is having a good time planning out His agenda for all these things these people are scheming to do.
