Option Update: Yahoo! calls active into June 10 board meeting & Icahn pressure

Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ: YHOO) is recently down 24 cents to $26.15. The Wall Street Journal reported investor Carl Icahn may seek to oust YHOO CEO Jerry Yang. YHOO's board of directors is expected to meet on June 10.

Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) announced on May 5 the withdrawal of its proposal to acquire YHOO. YHOO call option volume of 73,629 contracts compares to put volume of 21,966 contracts. YHOO June option implied volatility of 46 is above its 26-week average of 41 according to Track Data, indicating larger price movement.
