But, what's significant about Sprint's online marketing campaign for the Instinct is the integration with Google, Inc.'s (NASDAQ: GOOG) YouTube. Notice the red callout in the above picture. Samsung Instinct owners are being encouraged to shoot a home movie that includes shots of the Instinct handset. If you do that and then notify Sprint, the company will pay you $20.
This is an interesting marketing angle, and it's one I've never seen before. Is this the kind of advertising we'll see from companies in the future? Sprint will be throwing out $20 bills to anyone who creates a viral video on YouTube with their product prominently featured. I suppose that's cheaper than national TV airtime and probably will reach the intended audience for the Instinct handset as effectively as possible (the YouTube generation). I have to give Sprint some credit here -- this is a great marketing idea and plan and will help it compete with the iPhone 3G.

I bought the Instinct - and I'll tell you "it ain't no iPhone". I sold it on eBay and bought an iPhone. You'll see - it's ok and all - but no match for the iPhone. Sprint - back to the drawing board and better luck next time.

What? Why ebay? You 30days to return at sprint. Not sure I buy your story. The instinct rocks. Check out the 3G coverage with AT&T and then check Sprint. You may want your phone back, if you ever did actually have one.

You are so right Chuck, this Donald is lying his butt off, or he is the biggest nutt around. Then again he did just said he bought the I-phone 3g to be screwed over by AT&T. I wonder why on every positive reveiw, or story about The Instinct, an Sprint. This same story about getting the Instinct an selling it on Ebay appears as the first or second comment. You Apple fanboys really need to stop. Unless you live in about the 30% of this country that is covered by AT&T 3G area, what do you really have. An as for as the wifi thing, with sprint you really don't need it. So Donald an other Instinct haters, get a life....

OK, I must say that I really like the Instinct. WHile I am an Apple person , I've been with Sprint since I started using mobile phones.
I'm primarily interested in texting, photos, calling, of course, email, and now getting into surfing because of the phone.
I have to say that I got it the first day it became available. I was actually AMAZED that for someone like me, who is HORRIBLE at understanding written directions, and really user challenged when it comes to technology, the Iphone was REALLY pretty friendly for me to get started on it as soon as the Sprint guys set up my account.
There are a couple of things that even WITH the directions and experimentation that I still can't figure out. Ideally, I would like to havke some photo folders on my unit itself, rather than having to upload , AND.... the biggie, is that I would like to be able to assign specific ring tones to specific people.
The other thing I can't figure out through reading or experimentation is how to turn the RINGERS and alerts down to vibrate or silence and keep the ALARM on, so that I can SLEEP THROUGH the nite without hearing an alert when someone is texting or calling me , but STILL BE ABLE TO GET UP IN TTHE MORNING with the alarm.
Thgis has been especially important, because, we in OHIO are going into our SECOND day without power in a lot of places.
I am charging my phone and on WIFI in a coffee shop that has not had a power outage.
OK, anyhow, I also find that I can EXPERIMENT on the Instinct and there are some wonderful little things that it does that are not really mentioned in the book.
Generally, I see if I can do a task first based on going around the menus, THEN I check the book.
I am quite surprised how much I was able to do by INSTINCT. The icons, I think are pretty clear.
Yes, you do have to put your time in.
Ok, the touch screen doesn't change when you view the phone horizontal or vertical, and I have to say, the touch reaction is NOT as fast as my friend's I phones, but for what I want, it's perfect.
AND, I only paid $129.00. Sprint sent the rebate back exactly 30 days after I bought it.
I would say, though, that there are definitely some software things that can be improved, but I think for rushing into the Market to be there when the I phone happened, ... well for us Sprint customers, that's pretty good.
AND< I have to say that I have had no dropped calls on this unit.
