Getting your writers to stop using bloggingstocks.com as a platform for their politics would be a great improvement to the site.
I'm looking at your Peter Cohan....

Getting the servers to work would be a good start. I hate the "an email has been sent". Beats hell out of me WHERE these emails go.
In defense of Peter - I beat up on him frequently, but he also comes down to earth and makes many good calls. When he has both feet on the gound he does well - it is just the part when he flaps in wings!!
Another thought - it might be advisable to keep watch - politics DO go with economics, religion does not. The Brits use buffers, BEFORE the post goes up.

Yep, it's too bad Peter Cohan has brainwashed himself, I've given up trying to point this out to him. He's a hopeless case. It's a shame because he has alot to offer when he has his feet on the ground, as Mr. Lindblad says. The closer we get to the November elections we will see Peter get more and more irrational. This cuckoo bird will be flying high by then.

If the goal of this blog is to elicit responses from readers that form a discussion then the current system of posting blogs works against increasing the number of coments. There are simply too many blog posts.
I like the interaction between people who comment and even from the bloggers themselves. If I make a comment or respond to someone else's comment in the morning and come home from work later in the day the comments are way back on page 4, discouraging new readers to get into the fray.
A lot of the posts are merely informative instead of thought provoking. They belong on another forum. My suggestion is for fewer posts each day, geared at stimulating discussion, rather than cranking them out a such a dizzying pace.

Thanks for your comments. On political commentary, since this is a blog, we welcome our writers to share political views that are relevant to investing and the economy. And I agree with al's point about having too many posts. We've actually been reducing the volume a bit lately and emphasizing posts that offer more opinion and analysis.

A handy tip for dealing with people I can pass along is that people don't respond well to abuse. If you're going to insult him (brainwashed, hopeless case, irrational, etc), you're never going to make any progress.

Thanks for the advice Warren. But I did say Peter was a hopeless case. You can't make any progress with a hopeless case. And I don't think I'm insulting him, I'm just giving my opinion, some might think it's an exageration, but I believe that anyone who's objective and has read some of his posts over the years has to agree with me. The guy writes some great articles at times. But his extreme political bias causes him to write worthless propaganda too often. I say it's a shame, because this bias hurts his credibility.
Amy, thanks. I don't object at all to you allowing your writers to sharing their political views, as long as you allow readers to comment on them, which you have. I also agree with Al, there are too many articles, I would like to see more quality, less quantity. Good suggestion AL.
