It reminds me a little bit of a certain presidential candidate who, after earlier disavowing personal attacks, has jumped on the smearing bandwagon as his poll numbers point to desperation.
Maybe this will work for FOX, but I doubt it. People like Jim Cramer and he provides a lot of brilliant insight and analysis, even if his stock picks are something less than that.

Brilliant commentary!? Yes, his stock picks were bad, thanks for acknowledging that... but how about this analysis by Cramer in 2007?
He wrote this in New York Magazine in 2007
"Stop envying Goldman Sachs’ Lloyd Blankfein already. Don’t begrudge Bear Stearns’ Jimmy Cayne and Lehman’s Dick Fuld their millions. Let Merrill’s Stan O’Neal and Morgan Stanley’s John Mack get paid more than Croesus. You heard it here first: They deserve it. In fact, they deserve more than they earn now.
Those five men are underpaid because they are about to make you very rich if you buy their stocks. Personally, I’m partial to Goldman Sachs, the most undervalued stock of the quintet."

Isn't Cramer a cartoon? I thought CNBC stood for Cartoon Network Broadcasting (for) Children? Cramer really should stick his face on his own wall of shame, then resign. I personally think he is manipulating certain things, and should concider meds. "I wonder how many offshore bank accounts this guy has, anyway?" Trust fund...my A**!

PS. I would rather give a drunk monkey a dart, and a Wall Street Journal... then to let this guy pick stocks for me!

Wow, it looks like smear campaigns are no longer limited to political candidates. Usually unsolicited smears like this are an act of desperation when promoting positives isn't yielding results.
While I'm not a fan of any iteration of Fox News, even when business-oriented, I also think competition is extremely important. To me this is a sign that Fox Business is having trouble competing and that's bad news for CNBC and Fox viewers alike.

Cramer is always on the edge to such a degree I'm not sure people take him serious. He makes you think but I would not follow his ideas. Fox Business News is great. Not always perfect but great looking women. Ed

Gentlemen this guys record speaks for itself. Look at his charitable trust he operates. Jim has seen a decline of 40+ plus decline in the last 15 months. His activity looks like a day trader. No one with any common sense could follow this guy on a regular basis. I must admit it is really scary that CNBC always go to this guy for advice. I am starting to wonder about CNBC, but then again you only have to look at who owns them GE! FOX is right on bring this guys record out. He is a entertainer and should not be taken seriously.

I'm not really sure I understand the point of your post. How is what FOX is doing any different than watching Countdown on MSNBC where Olbermann freely attacks the GOP for 53 minutes? Why no posts of KO's "desperation" to knock Palin or Bill O'Reilly or Bush out of the universe? A smart person will listen/watch a variety of programs to get the truth, and FOX's ad is simply keeping Cramer on his toes (or his meds at least). Have you never heard of competition?

Fox and CNN's business coverage are nowhere close to the expertise that CNBC brings every day. CNBC has many of the original FNN cast that have been doing their jobs extremely well for 20+ years. Does Jim make some bad calls? Of course. But he does say some thought provoking stuff, and this is a business where being right 51% of the time = being profitable. How many people who appear daily on Fox ever managed $200M? Cramer is self-righteous and egomaniacal, but Fox is still a terrible joke compared to CNBC. -- signed, hedge fund manager who watches CNBC every day from about 7:30 am to 6:00-6:30 pm (sometimes I watch JC, sometimes I don't).
