Asian markets fell sharply overnight.
The Nikkei fell 9.6% to 7,649, lead by Sony (NYSE: SNE) which cut forecasts. The Hang Seng fell 6.1% to 12,919. And, the Shanghai Composite moved down. 1.9% to 1,840.
Just after the open in Europe, the FTSE was off 4% to 3,926. The Dax was down 5.3% to 4,280. The CAC 40 was down 5% to 3,146.
