Of course they're being facetious, but a bailout for the sex industry might not be such a crazy idea. A $5 billion infusion could be enough to move the porn industry back to the United States, and create thousands of jobs for recently laid off retailers and autoworkers -- Debbie Does Detroit, perhaps?
Playboy Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: PLA) shareholders could definitely use a bailout and if the industry at large is faring as poorly as that company, Flynt and Francis may deserve more sympathy than they're likely to get.

Ok, so the porn industry wants a bailout? That idea is about as good as giving Chevy Chase a weeknight talk show. Translation, the entire porn industry is one of filth and doesn't need bailing out. For the record, Chevy Chase was FOX's latest attempt to get into the late night business, as far as weeknights are concerned, with that attempt coming in 1993 after failing to land David Letterman who went to CBS. In either case, both are or were bad ideas.

While it may be silly to think of offering the porn industry any type of financial bailout, I assure you that the financial statements of most companies and elected officials are obscene.

I wish we had give a few million to the porn industry instead of giving the banks all that cash. The porn industry would probably have actually used the money productively rather than piss it away on jets, refurbishing offices and paying dividends.
At this point I would rather deal with an honest pornographer than one of these shady bankers.
