Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: WMT) sure has a storied history. Borne out of the backwoods of Arkansas, the company founded by Sam Walton has gone on to become one of the most efficient and ruthless retailers ever.At the same tie, it's become the world's largest company by revenues as well. Perhaps some of that "biggest..." mentality has gotten into Sam Walton's son -- Rob Walton's -- head, as he just reportedly ordered one of the most custom, gold-laden Ferraris most of us have ever seen.
Take this as a rumor for now, but what else is one of the richest men in the U.S. to do? Although Wal-Mart is adamant about pinning down suppliers for the lowest costs possible and then passing those savings on to customers, the conservation mentality may not exist that much to members of the Walton family these days. Did Walton press Ferrari and designer Pininfarina for the lowest cost parts imaginable to make this dream automobile? Uh, no -- most likely, the extreme opposite.
What do you think? Will this beast be seen tearing up the streets of Bentonville soon and will we see nearby highways turned into an autobahn equivalent? Doesn't that thing look like a 60s-era Chevrolet Corvette? "Save Money. Live Better" is Wal-Mart's corporate slogan -- but it works for the top insiders of the company as a prescient self-indulged title as well, doesn't it?

What this man does with his own personal money is his business. Would you want someone else prying into your own personal purchases and posting them on the internet?

Hey Group,
Let us not be to hard on"Robbie" Walton as long as Wal-Mart continues to save the average family $2,000 per year. When this is not he case then it will be time to blame "Robbie". I guess we need to "take the bitter with the sweet" even though it makes us mad. What about the entertainers? Should not we feel the same toward some of them? RoudMan
