Today is the 4th of July, and the nation is busy celebrating its 233rd birthday.
The past year has been pretty rough for the old Republic, with the economy going through its worst spat in 80 years.
Still, I'm an optimist, and I think we'll come through this stronger than ever. To honor America's birthday, I want to highlight three great all-American brands that deserve a place in your portfolio.
I always like companies with strong brand names because it helps them weather tough economic times better than unknown companies.

I couldn't agree more! If everyone would invest in companies that are American born-and continue to be manufactured and distributed-in the good ole' USA, our country wouldn't be in the trouble we are in. We are letting other countries take our jobs just to pay a few cents more for something. It's also nice to see an article that is upbeat rather than only looking down.

Fine and Dandy- If you can afford expensive stock with no diversification, little to no dividends.....then remember that much of the profits for these companies come from other countries Not here..break down these companies into pieces/ingrediants Then see how much is truly American and not imported...just like the auto industry!

Rob, I can tell you why Americans "choose" to live in the USA these days - IGNORANCE. Gross, total, sheer ignorance of how bad they have it there. I pity you fools.

Have either of you, Rob and Master Shake, ever visited any of those glorious countries you would prefer to live in rather than America? That there are countless thousands in any other country on earth ready to would trade living places with you in a New York minute is an indisputable fact. I sincerely hope you get your wish, Bon Voyage.

No thanks, I would rather buy super low and make a dollar times 3000 then sell sell sell. Tech stocks and pharmaceuticals are a great source of gold. Sitting on eggs and hoping they hatch is okay if you are a hen. I'll take my stuffed omlet to go thank you.
