Donald Trump's financial life gets a little worse

More

It's been a tough month for Donald Trump.

First his defamation suit against a New York Times reporter who authored a book casting doubt on Trump's claims of a 10-digit net worth was tossed out by a superior court judge.

Last month Trump took his $51 million Trump Park Avenue apartment off the market last month. Now it's back on the market but at a price of $31 million -- a discount of nearly 38% off the previous listing price.

The 6200 square foot Upper East Side property has four bedrooms and six and a half baths. You can check out the listing here. Broker Adam Modlin told The New York Observer that "Mr. Trump is committed to selling the apartment. And we made an adjustment that is appropriate for today's market."

One of the first things you'll notice flipping through the photos for this high-end property is that it's vacant and unfurnished. Homes generally don't show well without furniture, and large homes especially don't sell well without furniture. Before taking a $20 million hit on price -- and changing brokers -- you'd think they would have tried hiring a stager, no?

Even now, it'd be worth a try. With a property as high-end as this one, the cost of renting high-end furniture to help it show better would be a drop in the bucket.
