- JPMorgan upgraded Liberty Interactive (NASDAQ: LINTA) to Overweight from Neutral. The firm finds the valuation attractive following Liberty's better than expected Q2 results and set a $13 price target on the stock.
- Marlin Business (NASDAQ: MRLN) was upgraded to Outperform from Market Perform at William Blair.
- Paychex (NASDAQ: PAYX) was upgraded to Sell from Conviction Sell at Goldman.
- Hewitt Associates (NYSE: HEW) was upgraded to Buy from Neutral at UBS.
Analyst downgrades:
- Jefferies downgraded NeuStar (NYSE: NSR) to Underperform from Hold on valuation and believes the company's fixed-fee structure limits top-line growth. The firm lowered its target on shares to $20 from $22.
- Morgan Stanley downgraded Daimler AG (NYSE: DAI) two levels to Underweight from Overweight on valuation and 2010 estimate concerns.
- UBS believes Research in Motion's (NASDAQ: RIMM) quarter is tracking well but downgraded shares to Neutral from Buy and cut its target to $88 from $90 based on valuation. Additionally, the firm believes customer Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Wireless may announce a data-only Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) device this year.
- France Telecom (NYSE: FTE) was downgraded to Hold from Buy at RBS.
- Furmanite (NYSE: FRM) was downgraded to Equal Weight from Overweight at Stephens.
- Best Buy (NYSE: BBY) was downgraded to Neutral from Buy at Goldman.
Analyst initiations:
- LogMeln (NASDAQ: LOGM) was initiated with an Overweight rating at Thomas Weisel and Barclays and a Neutral rating and $21 target at Piper Jaffray.
- Allergan (NYSE: AGN) was initiated with a Neutral rating and $60 target at Goldman Sachs.
- Infineon (NYSE: IFX) was re-initiated with a Buy rating at BofA/Merrill.
- FUQI International (NASDAQ: FUQI) was initiated with an Outperform rating at William Blair.
- Trina Solar (NYSE: TSL) was initiated with an Overweight rating and $37 target at Piper Jaffray.

The other tech companies are shooting at last year's target.
