Closing bell: Eight is enough ... really (DELL, INTC, MOS, SBUX, TRBN)

More

Eight is enough ... of DJIA gains in days in a row, that is. There are many things that the market had going for it today, but sometimes good news can only propel a market for so many days ...

Here are today's unofficial closing bell levels:

Dow 9,532.11 -48.52 (-0.51%)
S&P 500 1,028.36 -2.62 (-0.25%)
Nasdaq 2,028.04 +0.31 (0.02%)

Dell Inc. (NASDAQ: DELL) was up after beating earnings yesterday. The 2.8% gain to $16.09 was a bit misleading, though, as the results were out a few minutes before the close and the stock ran up 6% in yesterday's final minutes. Dell was really up almost 10% if you count both moves.

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) did experience some selling on the news, but the processor giant did raise guidance and even gave stronger margin guidance. Shares were up almost 5% at $20.40 late in the day.

Mosaic Co. (NYSE: MOS) was clipped today after UBS cut the fertilizer sector on price woes and on coming contraction. Shares were down over 3.5% at $49.45 late in the trading session.

Starbucks Corp. (NASDAQ: SBUX) caught a debt rating upgrade from Standard & Poor's, although the stock was lower most of the day with the broader market. Shares were down 0.6% at $19.31 late in the session.

Trubion Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: TRBN) was a big winner after announcing an agreement for the joint worldwide development and commercialization of a leukemia treatment. Shares were up 47% late in the day at $5.65.
