- Procter & Gamble Co. (NYSE: PG) said Q1 earnings topped the Street view but sales continued to shrink.
- Sprint Nextel Corp. (NYSE: S) reported a quarterly loss as postpaid wireless customers flock to rivals.
- Tootsie Roll Industries Inc. (NYSE: TR) reported also better-than-expected quarterly earnings.
- United States Steel Corp. (NYSE: X) reported its third straight quarterly loss but revenue beat expectations.
- Washington Post Co. (NYSE: WPO) reported Q3 earnings and revenue growth, but shares sold-off anyway.
- WellPoint Inc. (NYSE: WLP) posted Q3 revenue growth and lower earnings that topped expectations.
