Leggo my Eggo. No, seriously! There's a shortage on the familiar brand of frozen waffles, spurred by problems at Kellogg (K) bakeries in Atlanta and Rossville, Tennessee. The former plant saw flooding last month and had to halt production, while the Tennessee location needs extensive repairs, which has shut down several lines for the time being. There will be a shortage of the baked good through 2010, according to reports from the cereal giant. Other Eggo-branded products, such as syrup, pancakes, and other breakfast items, will be impacted as well.
Go stock up now, because the remaining inventory of Eggos will be rationed, the company says, "based on historical percentage of business." So far, reports of in-store shortages have come from a Kroger (KR) in Jackson Mississippi and a King Soopers location in Denver.
Hope you weren't planning an Eggo-based stuffing for your Thanksgiving meal.

Flooding?? Not. Has more to do with the fact that Kellogg's got caught with their pants down by the FDA for summarily marketing Rice Krispies as 'immune boosters' all over their boxes. FDA forced them to remove ALL product off shelves pronto AND REmanufacture NEW boxes without the bold faced lie slathered all over the pkg. THEN they got double whammied with floods. Oh, the poor poor life of a foodie CEO.

Make your own. Waffle mix and a waffle iron. Cook em till tan then freeze in a zip lock bag.
Reheat in microwave or better yet in a toaster oven.
Butter , syrup, honey, cinnaman sugar , fruit etc.
Enjoy.
They keep for weeks. Fun for kids to make.

Hello people, we all know that they are just using this as a reason to raise the prices on their products. If it isn't bad enough that all of the product packaging has gotten smaller, now to try and screw us over with this excuse.
I have my own waffle iron and make waffles when I want them. They taste better and are fresher than these frozen things.

First, I love Eggos. They are the best frozen waffle around.
Second, I hate cooking in the morning, beyond using the toaster and the microwave. Yet, my son and I prefer hot breakfasts to cold cereal.
My idea of cooking involves lighting the grill and getting the charcoal going, which I really don't enjoy doing at 7am.
Third, the store brands are still pretty good. Both Jewel (Super Valu) and Meijer have good waffles. They aren't as good as Eggos, but there are plenty of them.
Fourth, I have seen Jewels in suburban Chicago with less than normal amounts of Eggos in the frozen food section.

They need to go under. They are getting what they deserve. I hope the government doesn't bail them out.
Make your own waffles!

Get a life. You're having a trillion dollar healthcare bill rammed down your throat and people are worried about a made up shortage of waffles. Who cares if there's a shortage of eggo's? Wake up America!!!
