Tired of the prudes over at Apple (AAPL), who keep a tight leash on filth in iTunes? Well, it seems like the folks at Google (GOOG) are keeping an open mind. Even though its Android Market isn't playing in the adult space, Google isn't preventing adult-only content from getting on its devices, while Apple has made it a point to keep its iPhones and iPods clean from the start.
The latest entrant into the Android experience is a company called MiKandi (say it, "my candy"), which provides mobile access to the hot stuff you can enjoy on a screen of any size. MiKandi has no connection to Google other than the use of its technology.
Of course, Apple's stance on PodPorn has been pretty clear since the devices came on the market. I do remember that a handful of production companies, including Club Jenna, at the time a Playboy (PLA) property, and Red Light District, were kicking around free pod cast content at Adult Entertainment Expo, the industry's major trade show, back in January 2006. But, silence fell on the industry after that, ostensibly because Apple wouldn't play ball.
Apple has loosened up a bit, allowing its first two female porn stars -- Vivid's Sunney Leone and indy girl Aria Giovanni -- to launch iPhone apps, according to Adult Video News (NSFW). At the same time, enterprising developers have found ways to bypass the walls Apple has built. AdultVest's iPorn, for example, launched an iPhone-optimized site this summer. Though this isn't really getting adult material onto an iPhone, it does show an effort to beat the system.

More power to Apple for nixing so-called "adult-only content" aka "filth" on their iTune lists. I'm disappointed in Google.
