Google, Inc. (GOOG), already the king of internet search from computers and mobile phones, wants to bring you real-time information via those search channels. Information, of course, is constantly being updated on the web 24 hours a day without fail.Sometimes, finding search results from a month ago or even a week ago is just not good enough. Are you a voracious Twitter follower of some of the largest news networks? That's the sandbox Google wants to enter with is real-time search results.
Google's "latest results" feature should start appearing on everyone's Google search results this week, and they will be different that the standard and boring (but effective) Google search results. A scrolling, dynamic view will be presented to those looking for real-time search results, with new updates appearing right in front of the searcher as Google pulls that information in. The sources of Google's latest results? They include nothing less than the popular social networking properties MySpace, Facebook and Twitter.
Real-time traffic, weather and global news will be just a few of the things appearing on Google latest results searches. As Google becomes the gatekeeper of all real-time and archived information throughout the world (check out Google Goggles), what will the company do with the unthinkable consumer and business behavior database being gleaned from all this information? That's the largest question nobody is directly asking -- and Google is not touching any possible answers whatsoever.
