Oil giant Exxon Mobil Corporation (XOM) is going to be reporting its fourth quarter numbers on Monday. Going into Monday's report, Wall Street is expecting to see the company post earnings of $1.19 per share.During the same period last year the company posted earnings of $1.55 a share.
Based on some numbers that we have seen from competitors of Exxon Mobil, it could be a disappointing report on Monday. Earlier today, one of the company's main competitors, Chevron (CVX), reported disappointing numbers for its fourth quarter, sending the stock down 1.5% on the day.
CVX posted Q4 earnings of $1.53 a share, well below the $1.70 that analysts had been expecting to see.
Analysts expect to see XOM show revenues during the quarter of $83.96 billion.
Exxon Mobil is trading lower today with the overall market, with shares down 1% to $64.32, down $0.64.
The company will be reporting its earnings before the market opens Monday, and we will post all of the results once they become available.
