It should come as a surprise to no one that there has arrived yet another auto industry recall, similar to the ones recently experienced by Toyota Motor Corp (TM). According to RTTNews, over 400,000 cars produced by Honda Motors LTD (HMC) are being recalled for braking issues.Honda owners are complaining that the brake pedals in their cars have become soft and low-riding over time. Honda Motors has attributed the problem to the vehicle stability assist modulator, stating that an accumulation of air is causing the problem.
Honda has indicated that it will notify owners of the affected models in the coming weeks in order to make the needed corrections to address the problem. Honda further indicated that the mushy brake pedal condition is not affecting its British and European models.
Honda Motor shares lost 40 cents Tuesday, ending the day at $36.

Not sure where all this comes from but regardless of their efforts, it is too late to bring back those who owned Detroit cars of the 70's and 80' and will never give up Japanese quality. They may well be building good cars now (Ford, Buick) but Detroit needs to go after the 20 somethings who are new to car ownership.

People feel like they are being taken for a ride the minute they set foot into one of these dealerships. Most folks already have their minds set on what they are looking for even before they set out, and value and reliability are at the top of the list. And today unfortunately my idea of a quality car would not be either a Ford or Buick no matter how nice they may look from the outside. Toyota and VW takes them all hands down.

Now Honda, All Car Companies should have came forward with a full disclosures of what car were dangerous. Instead of waiting for a huge media blitz and tons of public pressure. I never seen so many car companies GM - NISSAN - TOYOTA - HYUNDAI having recalls all at the same time. I had no idea my car was affected until I looked on http://www.carpedalrecall.com and found I had a bad Anti Lock control unit on my 2008 Pontiac G8 , my co workers Ford Truck had a recall also. So be careful

It is clear that Toyota has sparked recalls across the industry as Honda joins in on the brake-related recalls. Toyota’s handling of its recalls has drawn attention from regulatory agencies that is spanning the industry. The government will be watching automakers more closely than ever, so those in the industry, Honda included, must prepare themselves to deal with a recall situation. I wrote more about the need for preparedness at the ExpertRecall blog: (http://www.expertrecall.com/toyota-sparks-recalls-across-the-industry/ )
