Honda Catches the Toyota Brake Recall Flu

It should come as a surprise to no one that there has arrived yet another auto industry recall, similar to the ones recently experienced by Toyota Motor Corp (TM). According to RTTNews, over 400,000 cars produced by Honda Motors LTD (HMC) are being recalled for braking issues.

Honda owners are complaining that the brake pedals in their cars have become soft and low-riding over time. Honda Motors has attributed the problem to the vehicle stability assist modulator, stating that an accumulation of air is causing the problem.

Honda has indicated that it will notify owners of the affected models in the coming weeks in order to make the needed corrections to address the problem. Honda further indicated that the mushy brake pedal condition is not affecting its British and European models.

Honda Motor shares lost 40 cents Tuesday, ending the day at $36.
