With yet another day of little economic news, strong Apple earnings could not drive the market in any single direction throughout the trading day. International news took a backseat to US earnings reports and to intra-day headlines. Whether these markets were going to close in the red or black was not clear until today's final minutes of trading. Here were the unofficial closing bell levels:

Apple Inc. (AAPL) is still trading at all-time highs. Shares were up over 6% at $259.70 shortly before the closing bell.
Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO) is now down after originally trading higher after beating earnings. Shares were down 4.8% at $17.50 shortly before the closing bell.
Gilead Sciences, Inc. (GILD) was the leader of the losers in the biohealth sector after it beat earnings but guided lower for 2010. Shares were down 10.4% shortly before the closing bell.
CyberSource Corporation (CYBS) ran up after announcing that it is being acquired by Visa Inc. (V) for $26 per share in a deal valued at almost $2 billion. Shares were up 32% at $25.68 shortly before the closing bell.
Vitacost.com, Inc. (VITC) was a huge loser after an earnings warning took it south. Shares were down 25% at $9.51 shortly before the closing bell.
Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (GS) was in the news again today as CEO Lloyd Blankfein is set to testify before Congress next week, and as some conflicting data appears over how accurate the SEC's case is. Shares were down 0.6% at $158.91 late in the trading day but this one had traded as high as $163.14.
