Is Wal-Mart's happy face becoming tattered and trampled underfoot? It's more than just symbolic. As Zac Bissonnette observes, Wal-Mart's strategy is beginning to backfire; its low-priced atmosphere contains a lot of hostility toward shoppers and the companies with better service are attracting more and more of Wal-Mart's customers.
