<p>Although there is much convergence between the two, mobile devices are replacing PCs for much of the world's Internet activity (it's tiny now, but exploding more every year). To that end, Google's Android mobile operating system, which is now taking the world by storm, wants to be the clear leader in mobile Internet and application access.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/01/06/googles-mobile-ad-requests-double-in-just-two-months/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Google's Mobile Ad Requests Double in Just Two Months</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/01/06/googles-mobile-ad-requests-double-in-just-two-months/">Google's Mobile Ad Requests Double in Just Two Months</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 06 Jan 2010 13:20:00 EST. And so far, it appears that Apple (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/apple-inc/aapl/nas">AAPL</a>) has the edge, with its extremely popular iPhone and app store, which has clocked more than <a href="http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-10424973-37.html">three billion downloads</a> worldwide. It was two billion just back in November.<br /><br />But the competition is intensifying, especially from Google (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/google-inc/goog/nas">GOOG</a>). After all, the company is <a href="http://brainstormtech.blogs.fortune.cnn.com/2010/01/05/the-google-phone-what-the-heck/?section=magazines_fortune">launching</a> its own iPhone-type device (called the Google Nexus).<br /><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/01/05/apple-picks-up-quattro-wireless-to-take-a-shot-at-google/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Apple Picks Up Quattro Wireless to Take a Shot at Google</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/01/05/apple-picks-up-quattro-wireless-to-take-a-shot-at-google/">Apple Picks Up Quattro Wireless to Take a Shot at Google</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Tue, 05 Jan 2010 14:40:00 EST. Basically, he wanted to find a way to get advertising revenues from his mobile site. Then he realized that many other sites probably had the same problem. So why not start a company to solve the problem?</p>
<p>That what he did, creating AdMob (yes, he is still on leave from Wharton). And, it was a great move. Today, Google (<a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/google-inc/goog/nas">GOOG</a>) agreed to buy AdMob for a cool <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/innovationNews/idUSTRE5A83ZF20091109">$750 million in stock</a>.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/11/09/google-gets-mobile-with-a-750-million-deal-for-admob/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Google gets mobile with a $750 million deal for AdMob</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/11/09/google-gets-mobile-with-a-750-million-deal-for-admob/">Google gets mobile with a $750 million deal for AdMob</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 09 Nov 2009 15:00:00 EST.
