The 52-week low for the shares is $25.45 and the 52-week high is $37.30. That puts the stock roughly in the middle of the range, which isn't here nor there. <br />
<p>
I usually like a quote to give me as much information as it can. I can usually tell more about the market's opinion if the price is closer to either the low or the high, and if the range isn't so tight.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/23/adobe-reports-first-quarter-earning/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Adobe Reports First-Quarter Earnings</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/23/adobe-reports-first-quarter-earning/">Adobe Reports First-Quarter Earnings</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 23 Mar 2011 09:00:00 EST. Hence, now may be a good time to consider taking some profits with ADBE if you're in at/near the January 15, 2009, first-discussed price of $16.92.<br />
<br />
Other investors who can tolerate the risk can maintain their full position in ADBE, as push to $40 by ADBE by the end of 2011 would not be a stretch.<br />
<br />
Adobe's 2011 revenue will likely rise 8-10%, on decent client receptivity to Creative Suite 5, the new version of the Acrobat, and the purchase of Day Software. <p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/14/adobe-pushing-35-profit-taking-time/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Adobe Pushing $35: Profit-Taking Time?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/14/adobe-pushing-35-profit-taking-time/">Adobe Pushing $35: Profit-Taking Time?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 14 Mar 2011 15:30:00 EST. Adobe's Creative Suite of software is used by creative professionals such as graphic designers and photographers, as well as hobbyists, to create visually rich print and online content. Such content includes photographs, videos, animations and mobile content. Adobe is the largest player in the creative software market and has around 46% market share. It competes mainly with Microsoft (<a class="inlinked" href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/microsoft-corporation/msft/nas">MSFT</a>), Apple (<a class="inlinked" href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/apple-inc/aapl/nas">AAPL</a>), Quark and Corel in this market.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/07/adobes-upside-and-downside-market-share-scenarios/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Adobe's Upside and Downside Market Share Scenarios</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/07/adobes-upside-and-downside-market-share-scenarios/">Adobe's Upside and Downside Market Share Scenarios</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 07 Mar 2011 10:30:00 EST. (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/adobe-systems-incorporated/adbe/nas">ADBE</a>), which warranted <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/10/08/adobe-systems-for-now-stand-aside/#continued">a stand aside view</a> in October, has cleared 'the danger zone,' from a technical standpoint, but risks persist. <br />
<br />
Adobe, first discussed on January 15, 2009 at a price of $16.92, should see 2011 revenue rise 8-10%, but much of it is contingent on client receptivity to Creative Suite 5. A smaller portion of the growth projection will be due to new versions of the Acrobat reader, and the acquisition of Day Software.<br />
<br />
To be sure, so far sales of Creative Suite 5, or CS5, have outpaced CS4, but the continuance of that trend is dependent on the U.S. economic recovery's durability. In other words, underperformance in U.S. GDP growth for a quarter or two would really weigh on CS5, hence ADBE is now in the high-risk stock category.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/01/10/adobe-systems-for-high-risk-investors-only/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Adobe Systems: For High-Risk Investors, Only</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/01/10/adobe-systems-for-high-risk-investors-only/">Adobe Systems: For High-Risk Investors, Only</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 10 Jan 2011 18:00:00 EST. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters expect strong <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/category/earnings/" class="inlinked" target="_blank">earnings</a> results from Nike (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/nike-inc/nke/nys" class="inlinked" target="_blank">NKE</a>), Bed Bath &amp; Beyond (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/bed-bath-and-beyond-inc/bbby/nas" class="inlinked" target="_blank">BBBY</a>) and Darden Restaurants (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/darden-restaurants-inc/dri/nys" class="inlinked" target="_blank">DRI</a>), among others. Here's a quick look (for more details, see the <em>DailyFinance</em> <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/2010/12/19/week-in-preview-nike-and-bed-bath-and-beyond-earnings-could-sprea/19768158/">Week in Preview</a>).</p>
<p>Analysts forecast <strong>Nike</strong>'s fiscal-second quarter earnings to come in at 88 cents per share, a 13.6% increase from the same period of last year. The world's leading athletic footwear maker also is expected to post revenue of $4.8 billion for the three months that ended in November. That's 9.3% more than the same period a year earlier. Note that Nike's earnings have not fallen short of consensus estimates in the past five quarters.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/12/19/week-in-preview-nike-bed-bath-and-beyond-darden-earnings/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Week in Preview: Late Season Earnings from Nike, Bed Bath &amp; Beyond, Darden</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/12/19/week-in-preview-nike-bed-bath-and-beyond-darden-earnings/">Week in Preview: Late Season Earnings from Nike, Bed Bath &amp; Beyond, Darden</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Sun, 19 Dec 2010 12:30:00 EST. <br />
This is not Apple's plan and many readers agree. They believe Steve Jobs and company know what's best about everything and have done fine by them -- the latter part is certainly true.<br />

The company closed down well over 15% to $27.76. The fiscal third-quarter report was the catalyst. Well, it wasn't so much the income number as it was the guidance.<br />
<br />
According to the <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/article/adobe-3q-net-income-soars-outlook/962361/">Associated Press</a>, adjusted profit of 54 cents per share beat the analyst projection of 49 cents per share. Unfortunately, the next quarterly report could bring a disappointing top line. Management thinks it will do between $950 million and $1 billion in terms of sales; Wall Street wanted a solid $1.03 billion. In addition, <a href="http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-09-21/adobe-forecast-misses-analysts-estimates-as-budgets-stay-tight.html">Bloomberg</a> says that the company is expecting between 48 cents and 54 cents per share of adjusted earnings for Q4; expectations were for 53 cents per share.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/09/22/adobe-did-not-please-the-market-with-its-guidance/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Adobe Earnings: Market Not Pleased with Guidance</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/09/22/adobe-did-not-please-the-market-with-its-guidance/">Adobe Earnings: Market Not Pleased with Guidance</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 22 Sep 2010 09:00:00 EST. The release of the National Association of Homebuilders <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/glossary/Housing%20Market%20Index" class="inlinked">Housing Market Index</a> starts out the week on Monday morning. Then on Tuesday morning, look for <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/glossary/Housing%20Starts" class="inlinked">housing starts</a> data from August. Release of the July FHFA House Price Index is scheduled for Wednesday. And numbers for <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/glossary/Existing%20Home%20Sales" class="inlinked">existing home sales</a> and for <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/glossary/New%20Home%20Sales" class="inlinked">new home sales</a> in August are due out Thursday and Friday, respectively. Overall, the housing market is expected to have continued to lose momentum in August, but less dramatically than in July.</p>
<p>Also on the <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/glossary/Economic%20Calendar" class="inlinked">economic calendar</a> this week: Tuesday's <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/glossary/Federal%20Open%20Market%20Committee,FOMC" class="inlinked">FOMC</a> meeting on interest rates, the Conference Board's Leading Economic Indicators Index for August on Thursday, initial jobless claims for last week, and <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/glossary/Durable%20Goods%20Orders" class="inlinked">durable goods orders</a> data for August on Friday. No significant changes from the Fed are anticipated, but the leading economic indicators may rise a bit.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/09/19/week-in-preview-housing-data-lennar-autozone-adobe/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The Week in Preview: Housing Data, Lennar's Earnings and More</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/09/19/week-in-preview-housing-data-lennar-autozone-adobe/">The Week in Preview: Housing Data, Lennar's Earnings and More</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Sun, 19 Sep 2010 12:30:00 EST. (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/apple-inc/aapl/nas" class="inlinked">AAPL</a>) unleashed the iPhone on the world back in 2007 the company has sold millions of the device and created a massive market for iPhone apps. Developers have invested a lot of time and money in creating apps for the popular iPhone, but have been frustrated by the lack of guidelines and communication with Apple. </p>
<p>Developers have been begging for more insight into the approval process, and today Apple gave them what they wanted by <a href="http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-09-09/apple-to-publish-app-store-guidelines-relax-restrictions.html">releasing the guidelines</a> it uses to review submitted apps.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/09/09/apple-releases-guidelines-for-app-developers/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Apple Releases Guidelines for App Developers</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/09/09/apple-releases-guidelines-for-app-developers/">Apple Releases Guidelines for App Developers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Thu, 09 Sep 2010 16:30:00 EST. All fear-mongering aside, we see two very positive developments in the U.S. <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/category/economy/" class="inlinked">economy</a>: retail and corporate spending.</p>
<p><strong>1. Retail Spending</strong></p>
<p>The <a href="http://www.icsc.org/" target="_blank">International Council of Shopping Centers</a> has announced that retail sales expanded at the highest pace since September 2006. Luxury retailers posted an eye-popping 8% rise in sales. Seems like <a target="_blank" href="http://wallstcheatsheet.com/breaking-news/the-number-one-reason-the-us-consumer-will-be-back/?p=9380/">consumption<em> is</em> our culture</a>. Some people think the U.S. consumer has changed. Personally, I would never bet against the DNA of a tribe ... and ours is shopping. As my brother Derek said, "In the Great Depression we had bread lines. Now, there are Apple (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/apple-inc/aapl/nas" class="inlinked">AAPL</a>) <a target="_blank" href="http://wallstcheatsheet.com/breaking-news/video-wall-st-cheat-sheet-talks-6-reasons-why-the-market-wont-crash-yahoo-techticker/?p=13436/">iPhone 4 lines</a>." That is a mind-blowing distinction.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/07/08/signs-the-economy-will-survive/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Two Signs the Economy Will Survive</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/07/08/signs-the-economy-will-survive/">Two Signs the Economy Will Survive</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Thu, 08 Jul 2010 12:10:00 EST. As we noted in our <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/06/22/adobe-second-quarter-earnings-preview/">earnings preview</a> yesterday, analysts were expecting to see the company announce earnings of 42 cents per share.
