These were based on reader interest, which they do still generate today.</p>
<p><a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/apple/usa?tabs=quotesandnews">Apple Inc.</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/apple/usa?tabs=quotesandnews">AAPL</a>) was the big winner among only four that had appreciated. The following indicates commonly used metrics for tracking and comparing stocks.</p>
<p><strong></strong></p>
<p><strong></strong></p>
<p><strong>Reviewing the stocks in order of lowest to highest P/E ratio (TTM):</strong></p>
<ul><span class="lgRB">
    <li><a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/time-warner-inc/twx/nys">Time Warner</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/time-warner-inc/twx/nys">TWX</a>) 14.84 </li>
    <li><a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/general-electric-company/ge/nys">General Electric</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/general-electric-company/ge/nys">GE</a>) 14.91 </li>
    <li><span></span><a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/microsoft-corporation/msft/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">Microsoft</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/microsoft-corporation/msft/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">MSFT</a>) 17.08 </li>
    <li><a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/wal-mart-stores-inc/wmt/nys/fundamentals?tabs=fundamentals">Wal-Mart</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/wal-mart-stores-inc/wmt/nys/fundamentals?tabs=fundamentals">WMT</a>) 18.29 </li>
    </span>
    <li><a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/yahoo-inc/yhoo/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">Yahoo Inc.</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/yahoo-inc/yhoo/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">YHOO</a>) 34.25 </li>
    <li><a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/apple/usa?tabs=quotesandnews">Apple Inc.</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/apple/usa?tabs=quotesandnews">AAPL</a>) 37.82 </li>
    <li><a href="http://beta.finance.aol.com/quotes/google-inc/goog/nas">Google Inc.</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://beta.finance.aol.com/quotes/google-inc/goog/nas">GOOG</a>) 40.28 </li>
    <li><span></span><span class="lgRB"><a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/ebay-inc/ebay/nas">eBay</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/ebay-inc/ebay/nas">EBAY</a>) 95.24</span> </li>
</ul>
<p><span class="lgRB">It is interesting to note that only two of the eight have a below market P/E ratio, while only two are average. On the other hand, four are double the average and beyond, which leads me to believe the overall market consensus is that it is still very early in the game for these stocks and their futures are yet to be determined. The P/E ratios of the four are also the most volatile as are the stock prices.
<ul> </ul>

<ul>
    <li>Jefferies initiated <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/gmx-resources-inc/gmxr/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">GMX Resources</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/gmx-resources-inc/gmxr/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">GMXR</a>) with a Buy rating and $40 target and believes the company's valuation discount to its NAV will narrow as management refocuses its efforts on its base Cotton Valley development program. <br /></li>
    <li><a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/glacier-bancorp-incorporated/gbci/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">Glacier Bancorp</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/glacier-bancorp-incorporated/gbci/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">GBCI</a>) was assumed with a Neutral rating and $20 target at B. Riley, as they think bank multiples are unlikely to rise much further, given the ongoing problems in the housing market and continued deterioration in credit quality. <br /></li>
    <li><a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/brown-and-brown-inc/bro/nys?tabs=quotesandnews">Brown and Brown</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/brown-and-brown-inc/bro/nys?tabs=quotesandnews">BRO</a>) was initiated with a Buy rating and $23 at Suntrust. The firm believes softness in the insurance market is now reflected in valuation.<strong></strong> </li>
</ul>
<strong>OTHER INITIATIONS:</strong><br />
<ul>
    <li>Stephens assumed <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/online-resources-corporation/orcc/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">Online Resources</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/online-resources-corporation/orcc/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">ORCC</a>) with an Overweight rating and $13 target. <br /></li>

Berkley</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/w-r-berkley-corporation/ber/nys?tabs=quotesandnews">BER</a>) was initiated with a Market Perform rating and $34 target at Keefe Bruyette. <br /></li>
    <li>Morgan Keegan initiated <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/finisar-corporation/fnsr/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">Finisar</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/finisar-corporation/fnsr/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">FNSR</a>) with an Outperform rating. </li>
