<p>Bucyrus, which I originally discussed on June 22, 2009 at a price of $25.27, was stopped out, in a good way, for a roughly 80% gain at $46 last spring. At that time, BUCY was in the category of one of those trades where the sell/stop loss was just a tad too high.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/01/19/bucyruss-deal-rounds-out-good-2010-for-shareholders/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Bucyrus's Deal Rounds Out Good 2010 for Shareholders</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/01/19/bucyruss-deal-rounds-out-good-2010-for-shareholders/">Bucyrus's Deal Rounds Out Good 2010 for Shareholders</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 19 Jan 2011 10:50:00 EST. <br />
Bucyrus was stopped-out in June at the raised sell/stop loss <a href="http:// Look for Bucyrus to continue to benefit from the developing world's enormous infrastructure needs, as the global economic recovery progresses. Bucyrus reported better-than 40% order growth in the first quarter, something that should help push revenue 20% to 25% higher in 2010, including revenue from recently-acquired Terex. Further, while there is some climate change risk depending on what happens to coal's status, investors should keep in mind that BUCY's equipment is also used to mine copper, and in oil sands operations The Thomson Reuters First Call FY2010/FY2011 EPS estimates for STD are $4.09 to $5.24. Each EPS estimate looks about 5% low, according to my analysis. Technically, as noted, Bucyrus over-corrected in late spring, taking out the $46 sell/stop loss, then rose about 30 points in four months. 2010 Outlook: I view Bucyrus as a long-term play, but if investors are looking to sell BUCY within the year, it's probably best to take your profits after it rises to $83-85, if it fails to rise above $87. Stock Analysis: I consider Bucyrus International to be a moderate-risk stock. If an investor has already purchased the company's shares, I'd hold them. If not, I'd consider buying a 50% position in BUCY now. Under any circumstance, I wouldn't buy more than 50% of my BUCY position before December 2010 and I'd put a sell/stop loss at: $46. - - Disclosure: Lazzaro has no positions in stocks, but does own shares in two Pimco Bond Funds: PHDAX and PYMAX. ">of $46,</a> good for a roughly 80% gain. <br />
<br />
If you didn't raise the sell/stop loss <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/06/15/bucyrus-international/#continued">back in June,</a> you notched an even bigger gain, as Bucyrus has surged to about $75 since late spring. <br />
<br />
If you did raise the sell/stop loss, the calculation here is to consider re-establishing at least a 50% position with BUCY. Re-establishing a position is rare, but Bucyrus is worth the risk.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/10/18/bucyrus-premiere-mining-machine-play/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Bucyrus: Premiere Mining Machine Play</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/10/18/bucyrus-premiere-mining-machine-play/">Bucyrus: Premiere Mining Machine Play</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 18 Oct 2010 14:00:00 EST. But since then, things have been red hot. The stock price is now about $56.00.</p>
<p>With such momentum -- and improvement in the business -- Bucyrus is warming up to some dealmaking. So this week the company <a href="http://www.investors.bucyrus.com/newsarticle.aspx_21247">agreed to pay $1.3 billion</a> for the mining division of Terex (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/terex-corporation/tex/nys">TEX</a>). <span style="font-style: italic;">TheStreet.com's Jim Cramer says you take your life into your own hands if you fade the opening in today's market. </span><br /><br /> A year ago with the futures up, all you could think of is how much you wanted to "fade" that opening, how great it would be just to lay out any shorts into strength. You could choose pretty much anything going into earnings season. <br /><br /> The techs? Last good quarter. The banks? A travesty. You didn't even know if the banks you are short would survive. The oils? Free fall. The metals? Amazing downward pressure coming from hedge fund redemptions. The insurers? Will they make it? Retail? The balance sheets looked terrible going into what would be a terrible holiday selling season. The autos and auto-related? Disaster. <p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/10/12/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-its-a-mistake-to-fade-em-now/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Cramer on BloggingStocks: It's a mistake to fade 'em now </em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/10/12/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-its-a-mistake-to-fade-em-now/">Cramer on BloggingStocks: It's a mistake to fade 'em now </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 12 Oct 2009 09:50:00 EST. Until Thursday -- when the Senate failed to pass the bailout. This was aggravated by news of the ex-Nasdaq chair being accused of a massive $50 billion 'Ponzi scheme,' and economic indicators that actually were not as bad as expected.<br /><br />Still, if the automakers manage to get assistance from somewhere else, we might see some sort of stabilization. If that happens, some investors may choose this time to return to the market. This week's theme among BloggingStocks contributors seemed to revolve not just around 'cheap' but also on yield. Competent management also plays a bigger role these days when picking stocks.<br /><br />Here are some picks from this week:<br /><br />Jim Cramer took a hard look at these <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2008/12/08/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-tempted-by-high-yields/">high yielders</a>: <strong><a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/the-dow-chemical-company/dow/nys">Dow Chemical</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/the-dow-chemical-company/dow/nys">DOW</a>), <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/general-electric-company/ge/nys">General Electric</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/general-electric-company/ge/nys">GE</a>), <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/e-i-du-pont-de-nemours-and-company/dd/nys">Du Pont</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/e-i-du-pont-de-nemours-and-company/dd/nys">DD</a>) and <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/intel-corporation/intc/nas">Intel</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/intel-corporation/intc/nas">INTC</a>)</strong>. <span style="font-style: italic;">TheStreet.com's Jim Cramer says the near term is muddy, but this mining-equipment maker is a long-term win. </span><br /> <br /> <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/bucyrus-international-inc/bucy/nas">Bucyrus International</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/bucyrus-international-inc/bucy/nas">BUCY</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=BUCY">Cramer's Take</a>) really captures this moment. When I was speaking last night to its terrific CEO, Tim Sullivan, I was conscious that his company's stock is at the fulcrum of everything that is going wrong and everything that is going right in this market. <br /><br /> Bucyrus, if you recall, makes mining equipment. It's really the only game in town other than <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/joy-global-inc/joyg/nas">Joy Global</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/joy-global-inc/joyg/nas">JOYG</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=JOYG">Cramer's Take</a>), as the mining machinery business was annihilated by years of underinvestment. <br /><br /> The company became the quintessential play on mining as orders, particularly from China, for new coal mining equipment soared each year. China's opening a new coal-fired energy plant every week, so you know that there's demand. <br /><br /> The hedge funds glommed on to this one big-time. Like in so many that we are familiar with -- <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/mastercard-incorporated/ma/nys">MasterCard</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/mastercard-incorporated/ma/nys">MA</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=MA">Cramer's Take</a>), <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/trinity-industries-inc/trn/nys">Trinity</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/trinity-industries-inc/trn/nys">TRN</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=TRN">Cramer's Take</a>), <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/foster-wheeler-ltd/fwlt/nas">Foster Wheeler</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/foster-wheeler-ltd/fwlt/nas">FWLT</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=FWLT">Cramer's Take</a>), <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/nyse-euronext-inc/nyx/nys">NYSE Euronext</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/nyse-euronext-inc/nyx/nys">NYX</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=NYX">Cramer's Take</a>) and <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/freeport-mcmoran-copper-and-gold-inc/fcx/nys">Freeport-McMoRan</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/freeport-mcmoran-copper-and-gold-inc/fcx/nys">FCX</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=FCX">Cramer's Take</a>) -- they took concentrated positions in this and Joy Global and intended to ride the commodity boom for years. <p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2008/12/10/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-bucyrus-is-a-buy-on-chinas-resurgence/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Cramer on BloggingStocks: Bucyrus is a buy on China's resurgence </em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2008/12/10/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-bucyrus-is-a-buy-on-chinas-resurgence/">Cramer on BloggingStocks: Bucyrus is a buy on China's resurgence </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 10 Dec 2008 09:18:00 EST.
