American Oriental Bioengineering (AOB): Shares trace bullish 'Cup & Handle' pattern

American Oriental Bioengineering (NYSE: AOB) manufactures a broad range of prescription pharmaceutical, over-the-counter pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products for the Chinese market, operating from 30 locations in the Peoples Republic. Offerings include treatments for the flu, upper respiratory infections, tonsillitis, incontinence, endometritis, annexitis, PMS and sinus congestion. The firm sells to some 100,000 retail stores, pharmacies, hospitals and independent distributors.

American Oriental surprised the Street earlier in the month, when it reported Q1 EPS of 12 cents and revenues of $38.8 million. Analysts had been looking for 12 cents and $37.9 million. Management also guided FY08 revenues to at least $245.0 million, versus consensus of $227.64 million. The CEO cited synergies from recent acquisitions in support of the optimistic view.

Triumph Group (TGI): Shares in bullish 'Cup & Handle' pattern

Triumph Group (NYSE: TGI) designs, engineers, manufactures, repairs, overhauls and distributes aircraft components, such as hydraulic, mechanical and electromechanical control systems, aircraft and engine accessories, structural assemblies, auxiliary power units and aircraft instruments. Customers include original equipment makers and aftermarket manufacturers in the commercial, military, and air cargo markets.

The firm surprised the Street earlier in the month, when it reported Q4 EPS of $1.26 and revenues of $321.2 million. Analysts had been looking for $1.04 and $302.1 million. Management also guided FY08 EPS to $4.85-$5.05 ($4.12 consensus) and FY08 revenues to $1.25-$1.35 billion ($1.13 billion consensus). The CEO noted that quarterly sales had set a new company record and that backlog had reached a record $1.3 billion.

Natus Medical (BABY): Share price defines bullish 'Cup & Handle'

Natus Medical (NASDAQ: BABY) makes products for the detection, treatment, monitoring and tracking of common medical disorders in babies. Ailments addressed include hearing impairment, neurological dysfunction, epilepsy, sleep disorders, newborn jaundice and metabolic disorders. In addition, the company makes neonatal oxygen delivery hoods and heatshields. It also provides software that collects and reports newborn screening data to health labs and disease control centers.

The firm pleased investors earlier in the month, when it reported Q1 EPS of 11 cents and revenues of $36.9 million. Analysts had been looking for 10 cents and $35.5 million. The CEO particularly noted strong sales of the company's newborn hearing screening products. Management also guided Q2 EPS to 14-15 cents (14 cent consensus), Q2 revenues to $38-$39 million ($38.23M consensus), FY08 EPS to 70-72 cents (67 cent consensus) and FY08 revenues to $161-$162 million ($159.58M consensus).

Parker Hannifin Corporation (PH): Share price defines bullish 'cup & handle'

Parker Hannifin Corporation (NYSE: PH) manufactures fluid power systems, electromechanical controls and related components. Its Industrial unit offers hydraulic systems, filters, sealing devices, pneumatic components and electromechanical instrumentation to OEMs in various production and processing industries. The firm's Aerospace segment provides hydraulic, fuel, and pneumatic systems used in commercial and military airframe and engine programs. The Climate and Industrial Controls division makes refrigeration and air conditioning systems. The company employs more than 57,000 people in 43 countries around the world. Eaton Corporation (NYSE: ETN) and Honeywell International (NYSE: HON) are competitors.

Investors were pleased last week, when the firm reported fiscal Q3 EPS of $1.49 and revenues of $3.18 billion. Analysts had been looking for $1.34 and $3 billion. Management pointed to growth in many key markets, including aerospace. The firm also guided FY08 EPS to $5.40-$5.60, versus consensus of $5.28.

Jacobs Engineering Group (JEC): Shares define bullish 'cup & handle'

Jacobs Engineering Group (NYSE: JEC) provides technical, professional, and construction services to industrial, commercial, and governmental customers worldwide. The company designs and engineers process plants, buildings, infrastructure projects and manufacturing facilities. It also provides operations and maintenance services. Clients include Ford Motor (NYSE: F), GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE: GSK) and the US Department of Defense. Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) and Foster Wheeler (NASDAQ: FWLT) are competitors.

Investors were pleased last week, when the firm reported fiscal Q2 EPS of 80 cents and revenues of $2.66 billion. Analysts had been looking for 77 cents and $2.63 billion. Backlog increased $5.5 billion, or 51.5%, from the end of Q2 2007. Management also guided FY08 EPS to $3.00-$3.30, versus consensus of $3.16.
