After all, rivals will emerge and the market will get saturated.</p>
<p>But there are exceptions. Just look at Salesforce.com (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/salesforce-com-inc/crm/nys">CRM</a>). It seems there is no end to the company's growth. Then again, it is a leader in cloud computing, which is expected be one of the biggest megatrends in tech history.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/02/25/salesforce-com-earnings-growth/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Salesforce.com's Growth Machine Won't Stop</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/02/25/salesforce-com-earnings-growth/">Salesforce.com's Growth Machine Won't Stop</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Fri, 25 Feb 2011 12:00:00 EST. In fact, the company is making some major changes -- with the goal of going to the next-level. Salesforce.com calls this "cloud 2.0."</p>
<p>A key to this strategy is acquisitions. Last year, Salesforce.com made six deals (they included Jigsaw, Sitemaster, Activa, Live Chat, Heroku and Etacts). And with a huge market cap and cash pile, Salesforce.com is certainly positioned nicely for more transactions in 2011.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/01/07/salesforce-com-acquires-dimdim/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Salesforce.com Strikes a Deal for Dimdim</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/01/07/salesforce-com-acquires-dimdim/">Salesforce.com Strikes a Deal for Dimdim</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Fri, 07 Jan 2011 12:30:00 EST. That strategy puts it squarely in the cross-hairs of <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/google-inc-cl-a/goog/nas">Google Inc.</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/google-inc-cl-a/goog/nas">GOOG</a>) and its excellent Google Docs product, as well as software giant <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/microsoft-corporation/msft/nas">Microsoft Corp.</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/microsoft-corporation/msft/nas">MSFT</a>), which is set to release a major online component with Office 2010.</p>
<p>Adobe indicated that a fee-based version its new online initiatives would allow businesses to covert all kinds of documents to the de-facto PDF standard, as well as hold online meetings via Acrobat.com.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/06/18/adobe-looks-squarely-at-google-microsoft-with-new-web-based-too/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Adobe looks squarely at Google, Microsoft with new web-based tools</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/06/18/adobe-looks-squarely-at-google-microsoft-with-new-web-based-too/">Adobe looks squarely at Google, Microsoft with new web-based tools</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Thu, 18 Jun 2009 13:30:00 EST. They did so by leveraging free technologies such as Skype to help manage things.<br /><br />However, they also wanted to share screens, but couldn't find anything for it as the conferencing software was either too expensive or complicated. So, they started a new company: <a href="http://www.dimdim.com">Dimdim</a>.<br /><br />That was in 2006 and, as of now, Dimdim is getting lots of traction. In fact, the firm has <a href="http://www.prweb.com/releases/2008/7/prweb1087734.htm">raised</a> $6.4 million in venture capital. The investors include: Index Ventures, Nexus India Capital and Draper Richards.<br /><br />Dimdim is available as downloadable open source software. There is also an on-demand version. <br /><br />For the most part, Dimdim is gunning for a large market opportunity. For example, <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/cisco-systems-inc/csco/nas">Cisco</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/cisco-systems-inc/csco/nas">CSCO</a>) <a href="http://blogs.zdnet.com/BTL/?p=4662">purchased</a> WebEx for a whopping $3.2 billion. Other major players in the space include <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/microsoft-corporation/msft/nas">Microsoft</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/microsoft-corporation/msft/nas">MSFT</a>), <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/citrix-systems-inc/ctxs/nas">Citrix</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/citrix-systems-inc/ctxs/nas">CTXS</a>) and <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/adobe-systems-incorporated/adbe/nas">Adobe</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/adobe-systems-incorporated/adbe/nas">ADBE</a>).<br /><br />So, if Dimdim can develop an enterprise-ready version and can provide it on a low-cost basis, the impact could be highly disruptive. And now, the company has some capital to give it a try.
