On Wednesday, General Mills (GIS) will report earnings results for the fiscal third quarter. The cereal maker is expected to do okay. According to Earnings.com, net income is projected to be around 56 cents per share. If the company hits that number, then it will represent a decent bottom-line growth rate.

The stock has a couple things going in its favor. The 52-week high is currently set at $38.98. Shares closed on Monday at a price of $37.12, not far from the peak. In addition, the dividend yield of 3% is attractive.

Conglomerate General Electric Company (GE) will be reporting its fourth quarter results before the market opens on Friday, with analysts expecting to see the company report $0.32 per share.

During the same period last year, GE had earnings of $0.28 per share.

It was a tough day for bank stocks today, and tomorrow Capital One Financial Corp. (COF) will get its chance to impress Wall Street when it reports its fourth quarter results.

The market was disappointed today by weak earnings report from Goldman Sachs and by news of job cuts coming from American Express.

Chip maker giant Intel Corp. (INTC) will be reporting its fourth-quarter results following Thursday's market close, with analysts expecting to see another strong quarter from the California-based company.

Going into tomorrow's report, analysts are expecting to see Intel report earnings of 53 cents per share on revenues of $11.37 billion. During the same period last year the company had earnings of 40 cents per share.

Even as the year winds to a close this week, there are still a handful of economic releases on the schedule. Starting out on Monday, the Chicago Fed releases its Midwest Manufacturing Index for November.

Tuesday brings the final Consumer Confidence Index of the year, as well as the S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Index for October, the Richmond Fed's Business Surveys, and a look at chain store sales for the week leading up to Christmas.

Data on last week's initial jobless claims will be released on Thursday. And then Friday brings the New York NAPM Index and the Chicago Purchasing Managers Index.

Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters seem to think that Jabil Circuit (JBL) could be the biggest earnings winner of the week. The Florida-based tech company is scheduled to discuss its fiscal first-quarter 2011 financial results after the market closes today, December 20, in a conference call at 4:30 PM (ET) with CEO Timothy Main and CFO Forbes Alexander. During the three months that ended in November, the Florida-based tech company closed a note offering. Analysts expect Jabil to report that earnings for that period jumped 41.8% from a year ago to 55 cents per share, as well as that revenue increased 28.4% to $3.9 billion

Wall Street will be paying close attention to Oracle's (ORCL) second quarter earnings report this afternoon, as it will give some indication as to what to expect from upcoming tech earnings.

Going into this afternoon's earnings report, analysts are expecting to see $0.46 per share, compared with $0.39 during the same period last year.

Lululemon Athletica (LULU) will take its turn in the earnings confessional bright and early tomorrow morning, Dec. 9. Analysts are expecting the athletic apparel firm to report a third-quarter profit of 25 cents per share, up from 20 cents per share in the year-ago period. LULU has an impressive track record in the earnings spotlight, having exceeded Wall Street's consensus profit expectations in each of the past four quarters.

The stock has also established itself as a technical outperformer, with LULU rising 82.5% so far in 2010. This impressive ascent has been underlined by reliable support at the stock's 10-week, 20-week, and 50-week moving averages, which have guided LULU higher since July 2009.

Technology giant Hewlett Packard Company (HPQ) will be reporting its fiscal fourth quarter results following the market close Monday, with analysts expecting to see earnings of $1.27 per share.

During the same period last year, the company had earnings of $1.14 per share.

There will definitely be a lot of attention paid to the company's quarterly report, but that does not have so much to do with the company's figures as it does with the company's new CEO, Leo Apotheker.
