<p>The editor of <a href="http://www.adriandayglobalanalyst.com/">The Global Analyst</a> continues, "Indeed, a major expansion at a planned mine development will benefit not only Goldcorp, but another one of our recommended holdings, Canada's Virginia Mines (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/virginia-mines-inc/vgq/tor">VGQ</a>).</p>
<p>"At Goldcorp, the expansion of its major projects will, in aggregate, boost the company's output about 70% by 2015. In addition to the successful ramp-up at Penasquito, and ongoing construction at Pueblo Viejo in the Dominican Republican, the company announced significant improvements at a major project.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/14/gold-buys-goldcorp-and-virginia-mines/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Gold Buys: Goldcorp (GG) and Virginia Mines (VGQ)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/14/gold-buys-goldcorp-and-virginia-mines/">Gold Buys: Goldcorp (GG) and Virginia Mines (VGQ)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 14 Mar 2011 13:00:00 EST. Such was the case of the World Gold Council. Founded in 1987 by a group of mining companies, its primary goal is to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Gold_Council">promote the use of gold</a>. <br />
<p>
For nearly 20 years the organization plodded along with little success. Then Chris Thompson, the group's chairman came up with the idea of creating a gold fund that would allow ordinary investors to buy into the gold market without either buying physical gold or gold futures. So in 2004, the Council created the SPDR Gold Shares Fund, as reported in the <a href="http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/bef93190-f982-11df-9e29-00144feab49a.html#axzz16QcBBsPE"><em>Financial Times</em></a>.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/12/02/the-world-gold-council-creates-its-own-gold-mine/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The World Gold Council Creates Its Own Gold Mine</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/12/02/the-world-gold-council-creates-its-own-gold-mine/">The World Gold Council Creates Its Own Gold Mine</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Thu, 02 Dec 2010 09:50:00 EST. <br />
His astonished partner asks what in the world happened at lunch that convinced him to do this? The old veteran investor tells him that he went to get a haircut and his barber started giving him stock advice. If the market had reached a point where the barber was giving him stock advice, then everyone that could possibly be in the market was, and it was time to get out.<br />
<br />
Sometimes the adviser is cab driver, or the grocery clerk, or shoe salesman, it matters not, the point is the same. By the time an investment becomes water cooler chatter it is time to be leery.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/09/27/chasing-value-beware-of-gold-fever/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Chasing Value: Beware of Gold Fever</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/09/27/chasing-value-beware-of-gold-fever/">Chasing Value: Beware of Gold Fever</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 27 Sep 2010 15:00:00 EST. Year-to-date, Freeport has fallen nearly 22% and the stock currently changes hands for around $62.50. It appears that <a href="http://www.benzinga.com/market-update/10/07/362985/rally-underway-across-wall-street-aapl-intc-jpm-c-fcx-cat-bp">sentiment</a> in FCX may be changing, however, and if momentum swings the other way, big gains likely lie ahead for this stock.<br />
<br />
Freeport-McMoran, through its wholly owned subsidiary Phelps Dodge, is a copper, gold, and molybdenum mining company. The stock is highly correlated to copper prices, which are in turn extremely dependent on Chinese demand. China is the world's<a href="http://www.benzinga.com/trading-ideas/long-ideas/10/06/351642/as-the-chinese-insurance-industry-booms-china-insonline-corp-i"> fastest growing economy</a> and, as such, is the engine that is driving global growth right now. <p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/07/09/freeport-mcmoran-copper-gold/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Trend Reversal in Freeport McMoran Copper &amp; Gold?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/07/09/freeport-mcmoran-copper-gold/">Trend Reversal in Freeport McMoran Copper &amp; Gold?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Fri, 09 Jul 2010 09:30:00 EST.
