That plunge wiped out nearly $1 trillion in market capital.</p>
<p>In his testimony, Gensler said he identified <a href="http://dealbook.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/05/14/waddell-cited-as-mystery-trader-in-market-plunge/?ref=business">one high-volume trade</a> in the e-mini S&amp;P futures contract. The mystery firm was Waddell &amp; Reed Financial (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/waddell-and-reed-financial-inc/wdr/nys">WDR</a>). Waddell sold 75,000 contracts during the time of the plunge. The e-mini is liquid and traders use it as a guide to trading the Dow. Waddell maintains that the sale was a hedge. That means that the sales were used to offset other long positions.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/05/15/waddell-stock-market-plunge/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Waddell, Other Big Firms Identified as Mystery Traders in Stock Market Plunge</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/05/15/waddell-stock-market-plunge/">Waddell, Other Big Firms Identified as Mystery Traders in Stock Market Plunge</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Sat, 15 May 2010 11:40:00 EST. I give you investor education cum brokerage firm <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/investools-inc/swim/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">INVESTools Inc.</a> (Nasdaq: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/investools-inc/swim/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">SWIM</a>). It's a pretty cool business model that aims to teach people to invest via seminars, getting some juicy upfront fees and reaping the rewards over time through commissions and fees, if they are successful in their teachings.<br /><br />Besides having a booming stock - which, after a nasty 50% mid-year drop, this week is breaking out to new all-time highs - an incredible trading platform that I use for my own trading and big time investors known for discovering undervalued smallcap stocks, this company has some serious growth. In fact, you'd be hard pressed to find another company in the finance arena with numbers that are even in the same ballpark.<br /><br /><em><span style="font-size: 12pt;" times="" new="" roman=""></span></em><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2007/12/21/investools-swim-another-holiday-gift-for-you/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>INVESTools: Another holiday gift for you</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2007/12/21/investools-swim-another-holiday-gift-for-you/">INVESTools: Another holiday gift for you</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Fri, 21 Dec 2007 20:06:00 EST.
