Analyst Upgrades
- Citigroup upgraded Chevron (CVX) to buy from hold after raising its long-term oil price assumption to $80 per barrel from $65. The firm raised its target price for Chevron shares to $97 from $78 and said it expects oil prices to push towards $90 per barrel in the near-term. Note, Citi also upgraded BP (BP) and Petrobras (PBR) Monday morning to buy from hold.
- Jefferies upgraded Overseas Shipholding (OSG) and Nordic American Tanker (NAT) to buy from underperform as it expects crude oil tanker charter rates to improve in 2010 based on expectations for increased OPEC production levels. The firm raised its target on Overseas Shipholding to $60 from $22 and on Nordic American to $41 from $25.
- Goldman upgraded Corning (GLW) to buy from neutral as they believe the LCD cycle may have bottomed in 4Q09 vs. their previous expectation of 2H10. The firm raised its target to $23 from $18. Shares were also upgraded to buy from hold at Deutsche Bank on expectations that consensus estimates will trend higher due to robust TV demand and tight capacity. The firm raised its target price on shares to $24 from $19.
- Lam Research (LRCX) was upgraded to buy from neutral at UBS.
- Intel (INTC) was upgraded to hold from sell at Auriga.
- Regal Entertainment (RGC) was upgraded to overweight from market weight at Thomas Weisel.

Analyst upgrades:
- Citigroup upgraded Kraft Foods (NYSE: KFT) to Buy from Hold as it believes the company's domestic retail business is improving while input cost inflation pressures are beginning to moderate. Citi raised its target on shares to $32 from $28.
- Jefferies upgraded Sybase (NYSE: SY) to Buy from Hold as it believes slowing core IPG licenses in the second half of 2009 are now reflected in guidance. The firm raised its target on shares to $41 from $34.
- Canaccord said Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL) decision to ad video functionality into the iPod lineup is "very positive" as it expands its market into the low-end camcorder area. The firm, which upgraded shares to Buy from Hold and raised its target to $200 from $150, also views the launch of iPhone 3GS in all countries by the end of Q4 as another catalyst.
- Rio Tinto (NYSE: RTP) was upgraded to Buy from Hold at Societe Generale.
- Renasant Corp. (NASDAQ: RNST) was upgraded to Overweight from Equal Weight at Stephens.
- America Movil (NYSE: AMX) was upgraded to Neutral from Sell at Pali Capital.

Analyst upgrades:
- HSBC upgraded Royal Bank of Scotland (NYSE: RBS) to Overweight from Neutral as it believes the risk of immediate nationalization has been removed.
- JP Morgan upgraded DTS Inc (NASDAQ: DTSI) to Overweight from Neutral to reflect accretion from the Neural acquisition and its expectation the company can generate strong cash flow during the downturn. The firm raised its target to $18.
- Cowen upgraded Coach (NYSE: COH) to Outperform from Neutral citing the recent sell-off in shares.
- BJ's Wholesale (NYSE: BJ) was upgraded to Buy from Neutral at UBS.
- First Horizon (NYSE: FHN) was upgraded to Overweight from Equal Weight at Morgan Stanley.
- Spartech (NYSE: SEH) was raised to Hold from Underweight at KeyBanc.
